Premium MB for existing AP holder

I'm sorry if this has been asked, but I couldn't find it. I am an existing AP holder with a room reservation for this October. On MDE, there is an option to "Choose Magic bands", but I am unable to select a Premium band. Anyone know why this is?

They are currently out of stock.

They are currently out of stock of premium bands. This upgrade option pulls from SEPARATE inventory, so they are in the process of restocking.

I have been seeing premium magic bands 'available' to passholders for past few months. As of yesterday 11/18, only colors are an option as a passholder.

I was able to get a premium mb under my AP, not related to a resort reservation a couple of months ago. I think it really just depends on stock at the time you check.

This was posted in the MB upgrade thread on the resorts board. Apparently just another Disney IT glitch.

If you look at the top of the page, there's a message explaining that only the solid colors are available for now. I'm not hopeful the character bands will be back anytime soon, though I have no information at all. When it all comes back, what are the odds it's fixed and will only show in stock bands? Also not hopeful there either.

This is the message:
"Due to technical challenges, the option to upgrade MagicBands is currently unavailable. Disney Resort hotel Guests and new or renewing Walt Disney World Annual Passholders may continue to choose from a selection of complimentary solid-color MagicBands. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and are working to resolve this issue as soon as possible. "
