Can anyone settle a raging argument in our household?

Where is the premium cabin situated on a Virgin 747-400? Is it the bubble upstairs or on the lower deck.

Hopefully someone can help who has actually flown PE with Virgin to stop a slaughter in Ipswich.

Alex,
This may or may not be of help but it can be on either!! This maily depends upon the routing as last year to Orlando it was on the Upper deck but this year to New York it was on the lower deck as well!!! The chances are with Orlando it will be Upper deck as there is not as much Upper class who will be at the front of the lower deck, although the year before last to Orlando we were upgraded to PE and sat on the lower deck. If you really want to know call the advance seat booking line and ask them where the seats will be for the flight you are on or are thinking of booking. They should be able to tell you which area of the aircarft they are on although in extreme circumstances the aircraft configuration, ie different aircraft on routing, may be changed at late notice for technical reasons etc so don't rely on it too much, saying that I have never had an aircraft be changed on me.
Hope this helps and if anyone knows any different it will be interesting to hear.

Alex,

There are two configurations of the 747-400.The one usually used on the Orlando route has PE upstairs. As there are more people booked into PE than UC occasionally they over book and peole in PE can be upgraded to sitting in the UC seats downstairs (but with PE service not UC!)

Of the other 747-400 configuration this has PE and UC upstairs and also some PE seating downstairs too.The downstairs PE seats are not supposed to be as desirable:rolleyes:

Rage seems to be subsiding in Ipswich at the moment but who knows what is round the corner!

Thanks for the help - but still no black or white answer.

We have been allocated rows 77 on the way out and 73 on the way back if this helps at all

Alex, I hate all this talk of violence in the same breath as talking about holidays in Florida and Disney.

Shame on you!!!!!

Those seats are top deck. I have row 74 out and 73 back. The person who i booked em with confirmed they were in the upper cabin.

Alex,
Can also confirm the seat numbers you hve will be Upper deck as we had similar to Orlando last year.
