Premier/Platinum Packages

That package can only be reserved thru Disney (either by a Travel Agent or direct contact with CRO). It is available to ANYONE (including DVC members) as long as they book the package itself. It is not available thru MS- and thus not available for stays using DVC points. DVC members can get the Dining Plan for point reservations, but this plan is only available as an entire package.

I am also trying to figure out if we can use the dining plan when we go in February. We are obviously not booking with a "Magic Your Way" package, since we are DVC members. So can we book just the tickets and the dining plan?? I am confused with the answer above. Thanks.

The standard MYW dining plan is a seperate add-on for DVC members. Call Member Services and have it added to your reservation. There is no ticket purchase requirement to add the dining plan for DVC mebers, other than that the MYW dining plan is identical to the DVC version. You pay for the DVC Dining plan at check-in, but it must be linked to the ressie prior to arrival.

The premium/platinum plans are only available to cash customers through regular Disney reservations, they are not available for DVC point reservations.

Thanks for the info! I would love to purchase the premium plan as a DVC member. Oh well, I guess the regular dining plan will have to do. :)

BTW: most, maybe even all, the World Showcase TS restaurants and several DTD are back in the plan for 2007 as most people predicted (Chefs de France, San Angel, Wolfgang, etc.). Just thought I'd let any DVC members who were considering the package for 2007 know! allears.net has all the new info.

You can buy the dining plan if you are a DVC member staying at a DVC resort. Just call MS and ask to have it added to your reservation. You must add the DP to the reservation before you arrive - you cannot add it at check in.

You may buy any tickets you please or none at all - DVC members do not have to buy tickets to get the Dining Plan.

Doc already posted this, but to put it another way -

The Platinum/Premium Dining Packages are not available to DVC members who want to use points for their accomodations.

However, if a DVC member wants to call CRO/WDWTC and book the Platinum/Premium package, they certainly may. If there is space at a DVC resort for cash guests, they can even stay at a DVC resort on that package. However, they will be paying the full cash price of the package, so they will be paying cash for their accomodations and not using their points.

Best wishes -

I figured out over the course of the past couple of weeks that the best pkg for my family would have been Premium. We have been to WDW numerous times and part of the fun for us is sampling the many wonderful restaurants. We like to hit our favorites and add a few new restaurants each trip. The DDP just doesn't cut it for us on the DVC reservation. And this trip we'll be celebrating a birthday...so there are a few more meals than normal.

And to make it more complicated this trip, I didn't have enough points for the whole trip (and can't transfer in) so I can't add the DDP to the whole reservation. Yes, I know I can add it to the cash reservation - but only if I pay for at least a one day ticket on that cash ressie. That day would far exceed the cost for adding one more day to a park hopper pass purchased in advance for our entire stay. That doesn't make any sense.

Right now I'm trying to figure out if buying at least one annual pass with the DVC discount and the DDE card makes the most sense for us. I can't believe how much time I've had to spend on this one issue for this trip.

Why can't DVC just offer the same packages?????????? Why wouldn't Disney want to offer the Premium pkg to DVC members who are willing to pay more $$$ for the privilege of eating more meals onsite. That just doesn't make sense to me.

I'm tearing my hair out. :headache:
