Man this decision making thing is taxing lol!

For a trip to WDW (10 night stay, 8 day park hopper) and DL (4 day park hopper), do you reckon a premier passport would be worth it for one of our party? Premier passport = $849, park hopper tickets as above = $610, so would be an extra $239. Are the PP savings particularly good, and does having only one person on that ticket cover all four of us (for accommodation, should something come up, or eating together)? :scratchin

ETA, I guess you only have to spend a combined total of around (gets calculator out) $1250 on something - food, merch, whatever - over that time to recoup the $$ - so long as the discount was 20% and the one pass covered everyone in the party in terms of discount. :scratchin :scratchin

ETA more... if you can only buy it there on the day, not much use for accommodation discounts is it? :scratchin :scratchin :scratchin

I think I'm over analysing ;)

I'm doing the same maths right now. I'm thinking that one of us might end up with a Premier...

But... how do you make it work when you can only purchase it there (so how do you get accom discounts?). I'm worried I'll be annoying my TA to start making changes already too :lmao: (Can you buy park hopper tickets for three, and an AP/PP for one anyway?)

As far a I know, you don't actually need your AP to book rooms with the AP discount, you only need it on check in.

I can't see why you couldn't have just one AP and three hoppers. Anybody have any experience with this?

To get the discount on merchandise the annual pass holder would need to buy everything as u need to show photo id

We had the premier passport. Was really happy we bought it. I used it for accommodation. I got them at the guest services at DTD at WDW. I also purchased the Tables In Wonderland card for WDW, which gives you 10% off at TS restaurants and a few CS restaurants. AT WDW you don't get a food discount without buying the Tables in Wonderland (TIW) card, so it will be merchandise and accommodation. Where as at DL you get much more discounts throughout the park with the AP than you do at WDW.

It was well and truely worth it for us. With the accommodation discount, the meal discounts, the souvenir discounts, at DL the accommodation discount, we did the holiday tour and got a discount there too and also on the food at DL, including at non disney restaurants like Rainforest Cafe. Also the merchandise discounts it was well worth it and more than paid for themselves on the trip.

It's really about doing the sums for your group to see which the best option will be. If you don't use the dining plan at WDW and eat at a few TS restaurants (which we did, 3 meals a day for 3 weeks) and buy a few souvenirs or would like to take a tour. Then at DL if you again eat a bit onsite, if you like to buy souvenirs, if you want to take a tour and see Fantasmic (I think you get a discount on that), then it may well be worth it for you.

I asked the same question to the Disney Mom's panel as I want to get a Premier Passport and you can only get that at guest relations or at the park ticket box. They advised I didn't need to have the pass to book or check in. I could go to the ticket box and get my Premier pass and come back to the check in later and show them the pass.
