I know I have seen a post about pregnancy & Disney somewhere. I just found out today that I am expecting again, after having a miscarriage in March. I am now totally scared & freaked out because we leave for Disney on FRIDAY! I don't want to be sick the whole time, or worse miscarry while I am there. Are there certain rides I should not be riding & etc. things pregnant women need to know for Dis?

Exactly how pregnant are you? I would say your totally fine and won't be sick if your really early on. But everyone is different.

I wish you all the best :) DH planned a trip for my 30th birthday and 3 days before we left I found out I was expecting. It was my first pregnancy so I had no idea what to expect but I felt great so I had no reason to think I would be sick in WDW. Arrived in WDW and the very next day, at exactly 6 weeks pregnant, I was sick, sick, sick!! I don't mean to scare you, but I felt worse than I ever felt in my life. We had the dining plan too. The good news is I was thrilled to be pregnant, thrilled to be in WDW, so really, things could have been a whole lot worse! My advice is to take it slow and be sure to stay very well hydrated, particularly since it will be so hot and humid. Dehydration is always a concern but particularly during pregnancy. If you're sick, force the water.....the alternative is being hooked up to IVs and that's no fun. I advoided all rides with pregnancy warnings....

I'm so sorry about your loss. I had a miscarriage in April and hope to be able to say I'm pregnant again soon.....CONGRATULATIONS!! I went to Disney with my first pregnancy at 31 weeks and had a great time and no problems. However, after having had a miscarriage I wouldn't do it again. But since you are so early I wouldn't skip the trip. I would just skip anything with a warning. The main thing is that you are comfortable with your decision. Oh....and this last pregnancy that I lost I was nauseaous extremely early and all the time....but I still would have been able to have a good time at Disney :rotfl:

Can you cancel and get a refund or postpone the trip?

Personally, I wouldn't do it. I went to Disney at 4 months this past March and had horrible morning sickness the whole time (yes, even at 4 months, I still felt awful.) My morning sickness also started very early and very strong.

The only reason we went on the trip is that we also have a DD who was 18 months at the time and I wanted her to be able to go (we had taken her when she was 6 months).

I still had a great time because of my DD, but I wouldn't have gone if we didn't have her.

I just found out a week ago I am expecting #4...We are going in sept and no way are going to cancel our trip! I have already started Zofran and usually am over being sick by 16 weeks so either way I hopefully will feel good just big and HOT! When I took the test (this was completely a surprise a good one just unexpected especially with Disney so close:) I am curious about which rides have a pregnancy restriction...obviously I won't be riding TOT or RNRC or mission space, space mtn, BMTRR-this list is getting so long! I guess I'll have to check the wdw site to see if they have a list...

We are also expecting #4. If we had not miscarried I would be about 20 weeks along. We are just going to go & have a great time, and trust God to do His will in all this!

I say go! I'm about 9 weeks pregnant and we have a trip planned for August with DD (she will be 16 months by then). Sometimes I think we're crazy for doing this trip but I know it will be a blast. Just don't ride any of the rides it says expectant mothers should not ride, drink LOTS of water and get LOTS of rest! Have fun! I went to DL pregnant and we went from 6 am to midnight, I was beat but had a ton of fun!

I don't know if this will help, but we were in WDW last fall and I found out 2 days before the trip that I was pregnant. I probably wouldn't have tested if we hadn't been about to go on vacation- but I wanted to know before we left.
Unfortunately I miscarried while there. I dealt with it with some supportive calls to my doctor back home.
Actually being in my favorite place on Earth made it easier to deal with. After 2 days of rest in the resort room, I had to suck it up and go have fun with the kids. It helped a lot.
We were very fortunate to be able to conceive again right away and now I'm due this August.
To be honest, my doctor and I both feel I probably overdid it. The plane trip, carrying luggage, lack of sleep and overexcitement may have contributed to my miscarriage. Especially since I had had two previous miscarriages. It was just too much to handle.
I don't want to scare you, just make sure you discuss it with your doctor. Most women have nothing to fear in those first few weeks, things are so well protected.

I have been to disney ywice while pregnant and while I had a blast I know I over did it. I would see what your doctor suggests.

Do you know why you miscarried? I lost one in between my two kids. We found out that mine was caused by a lack of progesterone. I ended up having to take medicine for the first 12 weeks of my most recent pregnancy! My dr. tried to be funny by saying "well, statistics are in your favor that nothing will go wrong this time!" - all this after a miscarriage and being on STRICT bedrest for my first! I guess the more trouble you have, the less likely you are to have trouble each time after... and she was right... other than the meds in the very beginning, I had a normal pregnacy from week 12 on.

Be very, very careful if you decide to go. Maybe consider renting a wheelchair to be on the extremely safe side. Nothing like being at the best place in the world and having someone push you around! LOL! I've done DL in a chair (after knee surgery) and everything was fine. It may also give your family some peace of mind while you are there with your current history.

Congratulations on your wonderful news and the best of luck with your decision. All the best!
