I will be 6 months pregnancy at our visit to WDW this August. My husband and his brother are getting the dining plan (on his brother's room ressie). Will restaurants let me order off the kid's menu?? There is no way I'll be able to eat adult sized portions......advice please??

I think they would, but unless you're a very picky eater I'd think it would be nicer to order an appetizer -- some of them are plenty big enough for a small meal and much yummier than chicken strips or a hamburger!

Just depends on the restaurant but I don't think it's a big deal. Counter service is not a problem at all. I agree with mickey's newest fan that going with an appetizer may be more appealing; all that fried junk on the kids menu would get old fast for me =)

ITA.....for me, the kids' menus would get old really fast.

You'll still have to have the dining plan if you are staying with them in the room. I'd bet you can get almost anything you want for $38 a day.

I would also vote for the appetizers if you want a small meal--or sharing something with DH, if he's game. I am tiny and not usually a big eater. Most restaurant entrees are much too big for me. I often just order an appetizer--two if I'm hungry--for dinner. Kids' menus are mostly chicken fingers and mac & cheese. Not my idea of a nice meal, but if that's what you really want, it can't hurt to ask/

BTW, the third trimester of my pregnancy with DD8 was one of the few times in my life I was really hungry. You might want your own entree!

Enjoy!

OP said her dh was on her brother's ressie; she is not getting DDP.

My suggestion would be to use your dh's appetizer as a meal. An entree and dessert is probably plenty for him and appetizers are definintely better than kids meals at most places.

Okay, I am the typical male, I thought pregnant women ate everything in front of them? :lmao:

when i was PG w/ DS 2 years ago, i was able to order off the kids menu as long as the same entree was not available on the adult menu. i know that i did get grilled cheese at few places. i also made a meal out of appetizers and/or soup.
have fun!

lol, that may be true for some pregnant woman but for me and im sure alot of others, my Dh and I went with my DSister in febuary and food was not something i even wanted to think about(i was 5 months along) it work out good for my sister and I she was trying to stay on her diet and well i would eat 1/2 the meal and be soooo full. and it only gets worse from there im only a few days away from having my baby and now I feel starving and eat 5 bites and am full.
