Congrats! I think you'll have a great time! Just pamper yourself--take it easy, and drink lots of liquids. (Do I sound like a mom??? ) You'll be an expert at restroom locations by the time you leave! Altho I've not been to WDW pregnant, I've been to other theme parks while I was, and still had a great time. And I've been to WDW with small children, which works about the same way! There were alot of rides we could enjoy, and my favorites were the air conditioned ones we could just sit and take a break in!

I think the list of what you can't ride will be small. I can't think of any that would you'd be surprised by. Since you've been there before, you're ahead of the game and know what most rides are like.

I went to Disney in Dec of 99-jan 2000 five months pregnant. The advice I can give is be prepared to be tired and take breaks. It was a lot of walking and side trips to all the restrooms. The rollercoasters were the only rides I did not do, or anything really bumpy. Other than the fact that being down there for the millenium was insane to begin with everything was fine.
Congrats on your good news and have a safe trip.

1st off.....CONGRATS!!! How exciting!

I was in Disney when I was pg w/ my 1st DS. I was about 3 months along too.
These are the things I would probably steer clear of: Space & Test Track (Epcot), BigTM, SplashM, SpaceM, RockingR, TofT, Dinosaur & PrimevalW, KaliRR (maybe)...
Then anything that spins that might aggravate m/s if you have it (like Teacups!!).
But you will be able to still enjoy so much!!!
I will be 5 months pg when I go 9/15, but my DS will be 4, and our BF's kids are 2 1/2 and 10 months...so I'll have plenty of little people to keep me company while the big ones go on the rides. ;-)

Have a great time!!!

Congratulations!

I went last January while I was 2 months pregnant and VERY morning sick! Not something I'd normally suggest, but we still had a fine time.

Expect to take a lot of rest breaks and to need to go to sleep early. Hopefully any morning sickness you have will be going away or gone by the time you get there, and second trimester energy may even be kicking in. Every pregnancy is so different, though! Still, if you expect to need a lot of downtime and just see the best of the best then you won't be disappointed.

I'll be there this October with my 1 year old DD and a nice big 7 month preggy belly of my own!

Best of luck :)

I went last fall 4.5 months pregnant, so I really recommend knowing where the restrooms are. Secondly, feel free to stop and rest whenever you need it. You might not be that far along but you can definately get pooped out. I can remember avoiding where obviously ToT, Rockin' Roller Coaster, and Mission Space, Space Mountain and Autopia (fear of being bumped while pg). Everything else that I went on depended on how I was feeling at the time. I also realized that if anything happened it was my own fault, not Disney's (unlike some other peole in this world you do not take responsibility for their actions).

Disney is mellow enough that you can safety ride what you want to as long as it's not too jarring. But set your own limits and don't feel like you need to exceed them.

Don't know about Soarin' but don't see why it would. Avoid it if you are motion sensitive, although I wore Sea-Bands and these helped tremendously. I also did not move my head forward and back, left and right, just moved my eyes, which also worked well. Regarding pregnancy, I was early along with #1 and the thing that bothered me most was the smell of the food in the food courts. Walking through the lobby at All Star Music sent me over the edge every morning, enough to move to POFQ. That was much better, but I was hypersensitive to food odors. Have fun! :O)

I couldn't think of a good reason why it would either but there are some other rides that I don't understand why they have the warnings either so was just curious.

Was about 6 months pregnant on our last trip to WDW. Everything restricted is clearly marked on the maps and at the lines for the ride. If you have any questions, just ask. No restrictions on Soarin'.

Do a search on this board and you will find SEVERAL threads filled with links to articles and advice on how to do WDW pregnant. There is no lack of information out there. And, don't forget to talk to your OB about your trip before you leave.

Here is something I posted when I got back:

Having gone pregnant, even as large as I was, was no big deal. I found it no worse than anything at home. However, I do walk 3.5 miles a day. I wore, no matter how it looked, the same pair of shoes I walk in at home. My feet would swell at the end of the day. I brought along a foot therapy thing that you soak your feet in to use at the end of the day and that worked wonders.

I tried to dress in as loose and as comfortable clothing as possible. When I was tired I just tried to take a break. When DH was taking our older son on the rides I was restricted from, I went and collected fast passes for other rides. Our younger son and I just shopped and peopled watched. It was actually pretty enjoyable seeing WDW from a different perspective.

Don't worry, you'll still have a great time just like the other posters have said. I went in June '02 when I was 4 months pregnant. It was hot and I got tired earlier than usual, but it was still a great time to visit. I got the best sleep out of my entire pregnancy during our stay because I was so tired at the end of the day and our room at the AKL was pitch black at night.

I stayed off every ride that had a warning, but really didn't feel like I missed a lot because there was still so much to do. Plus, we made a point to try a lot of the tamer rides that we usually pass over on other trips. It was also fun because we spent the whole trip watching other families and talking about what it would be like the next time we came with our own children!

But, the absolute best part was the food. At WDW you can satisfy every single craving you could possibly have!

I went in Jan of '04 10-12 weeks preggers. Went on all rides . Yes space splash, RNR, TOT etc. Did not do mission space. Only ride I got queesy on was Goofys Barnstormer. Go figure. :confused3 My pregnancy was a secret so kids and mother didn't know, We had previous heartache with pregnancy and didn't want kids or family knowing until we were "safe" My doctor okayed me going on rides. She said just to let my body tell me what was okay. We were camping and so every day came back and took a nap. We went same pace we always do. We were there for 12 nights. No problems. Have fun, ride what you and your doctor are comfortable with. So many of the rides have pregnancy risks that are just a CYA. (cover your _ _ _ )For me the 18 hour ride driving a truck/camper combo was more stressfull/threatening to my pregnancy than Pirates of the Carribean!!

(Just so no one gets too judgemental DD is now one with no signs of any problems, other than being part of our family  )

How exciting!!! Congrats!

I was 16weeks (3.5months) pregnant when we went in Nov 2002. I rode all of the rides (space mountain, rockin' roller coaster, splash mountain, ToT--I talked it over with my OBGYN before going, and although she didn't come out and say to ride the rollercoasters, she did say that at 16weeks the baby is still very protected in the mother's body and that if I decided to ride them to just make sure that none of the restraints rested on my abdomen where the baby was). I only rode each of them once, though. All went well and I now have a healthy 2yr old (and now a 9 month old).

I had terrible morning sickness in the beginning but by 16wks I was just starting to be able to eat again.

One thing that happened to me during both pregnancies in the 1st trimester is that I walked REALLY SLOWLY. I don't know why, but I just couldn't move that quickly. It made my husband happy, though, because he's always trailing behind me most time since I'm a pretty fast walker, especially at WDW. But on that trip, I crept along slowly so we got to enjoy the scenery more.

Whatever you decide have a great trip.

Thank you all so much for your responses and your advice!!! You have no idea how much I appreciate it. You have helped to ease my mind. I will talk in depth to my OBGYN about the rollercoasters and see how she feels about it. Now let's just pray for no morning sickness, what weeks/months does it usually occur?

In a way I am kind of excited to go being pregnant, we can pick out some things for the baby and watch others with their children/babies and think about that being us. I think next October we are going to go to WDW again, our baby will be 6 months old. Maybe we will bring the grandparents along for some babysitting time!? :rotfl: Thank you all again SO much, it means alot!!!

Now let's just pray for no morning sickness, what weeks/months does it usually occur?

Morning sickness typically starts at 6 weeks and ends 12-16 weeks. That being said, one of my sisters had no morning sickness except with #3. My mother only had slight morning sickness with #1 of 4 and only felt nausous when she smelled eggs. My oldest sister had desperate morning sickeness for 7 months with #1, 5 months with #2 and none with #3. I had horrible (threw up every 3 hours) morning sickness for the entire 9 months with #1, Same with the first 5 months with #2, and just constant nausa for #3 for the entire 9 months--and my morning sickness starts at around 2 weeks. Everyone is different.

Also, FYI, the reason rides are restricted (and Pirates of the Caribean isn't restricted) are to CYA, but they do show potential for harm to the baby. The harm could come in miscarriage, premature delivery, slight to severe brain damage to the baby, or seperation of the placenta. And could happen at any stage of pregnancy. Nothing could also happen. You need to talk to your OB, and decide what risks you are willing to take. I rode the Safari ride, once, and do not regret it, but rode NOTHING else that was restricted. I had a difficult pregnancy with #2 and just didn't think anything would be worth possibly going through that again. So little is actually restricted, and it will be there for our next trip.

I had morning sickness from the moment the egg got fertilized (almost literally), and with both kids the last time I threw up was an hour before delivery.

I was about 3 mnths along at WDW--not showing, but throwing up in every bathroom. (I threw up in the hotel lobby of the GF, and some very proper ladies were tsking each other about these "young girls who get drunk even at Disney"

What saved my life was First Aid. If you are tired, or need out of the sun or the heat, then you can go in and lay down--they'll give you a nice bed with a blankie and a pillow and you can rest for as long as you need.

The other thing which was a life-saver was popcorn...the dry salty along with lots of water kept the queasiness something at bay. The frozen fruit smoothies also helped a lot.

I went with my DS, then 7, when I was about 7 months pregnant and all was fine. I went on all the rides I normally would, though I must say I'm not a spinny-ride or rollercoaster type. The only thing different may have been my feet seemed sorer (is that a word?) than usual. On the upside, both my DS and I were ready for bed at the same time, usually by 9, lol.

We went to WDW when my wife was 2 months pregnant and we had a great time! We spent a day at the MK and only skipped the mountains and spinners. There is so much to do there, even when pregnant. Being pregant also gives a different perspective. We spent more time watching other babies and kids and dreaming about all the things we'll do with out little one on the next trip.

We also spend a day at Epcot and just skipped Test Track and Mission: Space. Since the place is so big and you will get tired out more quickly, the boats across the lagoon come in handy.

We were the commando-types on previous trips, squeezing in as much as we could. This time, we just took our time, took plenty of breaks (shows are good for this), and made sure we didn't overdo it.

I can't stress enough how important hydration is. Be sure to push water--and with all that water, potassium is really important too.

I went last Oct. when I was about 4.5 mos pregnant. I don't remember anything being really taxing about it. I did not have morning-sickness to speak of (luckily), so no real issues there.

I did not ride the rides that are not for expectant mothers (at least for the most part - I did ride Splash Mountain). We had a nice low-key visit.

What I couldn't do? I couldn't have a glass of wine with dinner! Oh well, that's the same as at home also.

Seriously, it was a nice quiet visit to WDW. I enjoyed it alot. Don't stress it - believe me....I am now planning my 1st visit with DS and THAT is stress!!!!
