So, DH and I are going to Disneyland in 3 1/2 weeks and I just found out I'm about 3 weeks pregnant. So I'll be 6-7 weeks pregnant when I go! I know there are many rides I will not be able to do... We are very excited about the baby, (our first) but I can't help thinking it might have waited just a little while... ;-) Any suggestions for planning? I have been a little extra tired, but no morning sickness (yet, haha - hopefully I am not way sick when we go???). Everything is already paid for, so we're going, I'm just afraid it won't be as fun for DH - he's not wanting to go on all the rides by himself the whole time. I went in November and did everything, so I'm not totally disappointed, just a little worried about how it's all going to go. We'll be in the park for 3 days. (March 8-10). Thanks!

Congrats on your pregnancy. Hope you will be healthy and happy throughout.
I was 14 weeks pregnant when we went to DLP in 2004. I had a great time. Sure there were some rides I couldn´t go on, but of course I knew that on beforehand and had prepared for that. So no disapointment for me. I did all the rides I could do and of course enjoyed the shows maybe even more than before since I welcomed the time off my feet.

Hope you have a great time. Oh, I´m sure you will...

Congratulations on the baby!!! How exciting!

Welcome to a new phase of your Disney fanatacism. Since you are pregnant, depending on your superstitions, I would spend a lot of time looking at and contemplating buying baby clothes. It's easy to end up spending $200 on impulse buying so that's why I said contemplate. There's a new Anne Geddes shop in DTD and lots of cute baby Disney clothes made especially for for Disneyland in theTogs shop. CUTE!

If you have spent your budget limit for baby items, enjoy the slower Disneyland route. No fast rides but watch Billy Hill and the Hillbillies, ride the train, spend a few hours in Innoventions playing with every gadget and program possible (it's nice and cool on hot days), ride Pirates, Haunted Mansion and everything in Fantasyland except teacups (just for practice). Take a lot of breaks, watch all the shows (including the flag ceremony) and drink your water! Disneyland food tends to be loaded with salt which wreaks havoc on a pregnant woman. Too much water retention equals pregnancy related carpal tunnel and IT ACHES. If you are staying at one of the resort hotels they can make you an appointment for a pregnancy massage with the new spa at GCH. It's time for pampering!

Congratulations! I just went in June 2005 when I was 6 months pregnant and had a great time. There really are very few things that you cannot go on, obviously the mountains and such. It was pretty warm out, but I am from Vegas so it was not unbearable for me. The time of year you are going, the weather should be perfect. If you are not having morning sickness when you go, you may not even feel pregnant so I think you will have a great time.

Just relax, see all the shows and do all the little things you don't take the time to do when you have to hit all the rides! Have fun, and don't forget when you get back to start planning your first trip with the baby!

ps I wish I had known about that new pragnancy massage, what a great midday break idea!

They are supposed to be opening this month but I haven't heard anything yet. Here's the website: http://www.mandaraspa.com/

Since they listed pregnancy massage, I would expect them to have this service. I'd be happy just to be able to go to the spa!

Thanks for the tips - I was hoping I could ride Splash Mountain with DH (it's been closed when he's been there for the last 10 years and it's just one teensy little drop...) but it's probably not worth the risk. And of course I could be having more morning sickness by then I guess. (Very little to none so far) One nice thing is that I have ridden every ride and know exactly what to expect. Can't say I'm sad to have an excuse to skip Indy, but I will definitely miss the Tower of Terror! :( We'll go again some day... (when our budget recovers from the next four years of school.) I am really sad that pirates and perhaps haunted mansion will be closed though...

Congrats on your pregnancy. :)

I went in Feb. of last year when I was 7 months pregnant. We had a great time. Like you I'd been lots of times before so I had already rode all the rides before. I just avoided the obvious ones (Indiana Jones, Star Tours, Splash Mtn, etc) and went on everything else. You can definitely have a good time at DLR while pregnant. :) Hopefully that morning sickness won't kick in and you'll be able to really have a nice time.

I found out they currently have a pregnancy massage at the GCH (they took over a suite temporarily) and the estimated time to move in to the new spa is March 15! Their services are limited currently to facials and massages.
