We leave on April 17 for a 10 day vacation to the Pop century. We go to Disney every year. This trip I will be 25 weeks pregnant with our daughter. We also have a 2 1/2 year old son. Any tips on doing disney pregnant. I am just a little nervous about the heat and walking. We are renting a car. Thanks!

I went at 16 weeks pregnant. DH and I took DD who was then 15 months. We took it easy and had a great time! She went to bed early and so did we! LOL

Congrats! I just posted the same question-too funny!! I am due Oct 18th..but this is my first...and I am nervous about being on my feet all day too. I have no maternity clothes yet but I'm thinking by then I'll be needing some-and how hot will I be? Good luck!

I was 24 weeks when we went in January - can't help with the heat question but can offer advice as to being pregnant in general. I am in fairly good shape and was feeling great. I was able to fully enjoy the parks but you will need to rest more than you would normally - being at Disney is just taxing on your body. I would definitely recommend resting more in the afternoon either back at the hotel or in a nice shady spot in the parks. DH opted to get a weekly wheelchair rental for me which we would use at the end of the day or for parks that require more distances (like AK). At first I felt weird about being in a wheelchair but it really helped me to enjoy the parks more, not ruin anyone else's fun, and not tax my body - I even noticed other pregnant ladies doing the same thing! So I would definitely recommend that.

Bring a variety of shoes as you don't know what will feel comfortable - I alternated Crocs, sneakers, and flipflops.

HAVE FUN!

I am going to Disney when I will be 30 weeks pregnant. I am a little nervous as well. May will probably be very hot. I went when I was 17 weeks with my second pregnancy and it was fairly easily. I was just a little tired, but didn't even notice I was pregnant most of the time. This time it will be more difficult, but I plan on moving like a turtle and relaxing by the pool a lot. This trip will just be about spending time with my family and taking it easy. Have a great trip! I'd love to hear about your trip and maybe you can give me advice after you get back!

We were there last week when I was 24 weeks pregnant. The top temps we had were right around 80. I didn't find that to feel too hot. I am sure it will be warmer for your trip though.

I agree with the previous poster about switching shoes. I switched between crocs and tennis shoes. I also found some really comfy socks made for diabetics that were very soft and not binding. This made my feet much more comfortable as they are pretty swollen these days.

I also did fine walking around the parks. When I needed a break, I sat down on a bench for a little while.

One other thought I would add is to watch out for the lap bars on rides. I felt like some rides such as Peter Pan, Toy Story Mania, and Winnie the Pooh (among others) had lap bars that could press right into the baby. I would be ready to catch the bar to make sure I didn't feel like it was too tight.

When I was 5 months pregnant we were in WDW in May and I had a great time! There were plenty of chances to rest during the day when my DH and DS 6 rose rides I skipped because they were not recommnded for me. I thought I would feel like I was missing out not being able to go on the thrill rides but I loved sitting and watching when people got off the rides;) and were so excited. One mistake I made was going on the safari at AK. It was MUCH too bumpy and I should have skipped it. Make sure you stay hydrated and have a blast!!!! The Unofficial Guide has a great section for pregnant women if you want to check it out.;)

I was in the exact same boat last year! We brought my 2-1/2 year old daughter to Disney and I was (I think) around 6 months pregnant. We had gone earlier in my pregnancy as well (only 11 weeks) and I actually found the earlier trip to be more difficult due to all the morning sickness.

The best advice I can give you is take things at your own pace! I'd let everyone go ahead of me and just take my time getting places. Drink lots and lots of water and if you start to feel tired or dizzy, then sit and relax. The smaller rides that my daughter loved were perfect for me, so I'd take her while the others went and did the bigger things.

Take lots of breaks. Most of all, realize that you might not be able to do everything on your itenerary, but just have fun with what you are able to do!

Oh, and take a belly picture in front of the castle. I forgot to do that and I really wish I had!

I have done Disney twice while pregnant. LOTS of water and I stopped anythime I felt warm just get some cool air in the the shops and places to eat. Other then that, everything was great!

I went to Disney when I was 8 months pregnant in July. All I can say is take it easy and you should be fine.

I've done it twice -- once at 13 weeks and another at about 5 months. The most annoying thing was not being able to eat all of the food (cold cuts, soft cheeses, sushi) or ride certain rides.

We are almost in the same boat! We are also leaving for the same week-long vacation, I'll be 22 weeks, and we have an almost 3 YO. Maybe I'll see you there!

I plan on taking it pretty easy. We will try to do rope drop a few times and then leave around lunchtime for an afternoon at the resort. I rarely can nap, but plan on relaxing while DD and DH do.

Other days we will sleep in late and go for afternoon/evening jaunts to the park. I've been to WDW so often it's not a big deal to skip stuff. So go in with that attitude and you'll be fine.

I was 34 weeks pregnant when we went and I have to say take it at your own pace if you're tired rest. Drink plenty of water and swim whenever you can.

I would swim when we got back from the parks in the afternoon and it helped reduce the swelling I would get after walking around the parks all day.

I love all of the pictures I have of DS in my belly.

Also if you are driving BE AWARE sometimes parking is further away then where the buses would drop you. We stayed at POFQ since it was the smallest resort and I had an easier time getting around.

As for what to wear I say layer I was always HOT when I was pregnant so I needed tank tops and shorts all the time. Bring crocs AND flip flops because after walking around my feet didn't fit in crocs and sometimes I would wear DH's.

If you have any questions feel free to PM me.

Thanks Vettechick99! I plan on taking yoout advice. We go every year and dont mind missing stuff either! Good luck with your trip also!

Congratulations on your new addition!!

I was at Disney this past August when I was 21 weeks pregnant. I didn't find it too bad at all. I just took breaks and made sure I always had bottle of water with me. I also did a lot of walking before going to Disney so I was use to being on my feet and on the go but I did move at a bit of a slower pace than I usually do in Disney.

this might sound a bit corny but we took a Belly shot in one of the parks to document the "baby's 1st trip to disney". I didn't want to do it but we plan on going back to the same spot this year to take another picture with the baby!

Water & food. I was about 18 weeks when we went in '07, with a 3 and 4.5 year old. I was perfectly fine most of the trip, but our AK day was warmer than the rest and I could tell I was not taking care of myself. Make sure you have a lot of water and eat regularly so your blood sugar doesn't drop!

I was there in 2007 and was 21 weeks pregnant and my other 2 kids were 6 and 4. They weren't so big and moving at a fast pace so things were good. They moved about as fast as I could in the heat. I could imagine that if kids were preteens or teens they would be racing around the parks.

We took on the parks at an easy pace, rested when I got too hot, and drank lots of water.

I wore supportive sneakers every day and propped my swollen ankles up at night.:cloud9: DH took the kids to the pool at night so I could do this.
