Pregnant and tent camping during Spring Break - a March 2012 TR

I hope everyone had a Happy Easter. The holiday was very busy here, but I am back now and ready to continue the TR!

When we last left off, we had a fun morning at the Settlement and were headed back for lunch. We returned to our campsite and I put out some chips and salsa in my new Mickey bowl while I was cooking lunch. I made some cheese and black bean quesadillas on the griddle. We ate those with fruit and Oreos for dessert. Everyone was very happy.

After lunch we returned to the Meadow Swimming Pool.

DS3 headed right back here:

He makes me laugh. Anytime he would accidentally splash water on his face, he would run over and do this:

:rotfl:

At some point, he also decided to do this:

Meanwhile, DD6 decided that she wanted to try out the pool slide. DD8 would not be outdone, so they both went down the slide many times.

After many trips down the slide the girls just set off swimming, so DS3 and MIL came over to join everyone else.

We arrived at the pool at about 1:20 PM and left just as they were starting the 3 PM pool party. From there, we went back to camp and everyone got a shower and cleaned up for supper. We had special supper reservations.

Up next, our special supper.

Awe, great update love the shots of the kids with their grandparents!

When we last left off, we had just finished playing in the pool and were getting ready for supper. By 5:15, we were loaded in the car for our 7 PM supper reservation. Where could we be going where we would need to allow so much time?

Medieval Times!

Even though the drive is only 8 miles down 192, it took over 45 minutes to get there! We arrived a little after 6 PM only to discover that DS3 had fallen asleep on the drive. I guess he had a fun day at the Fort!

The show and meal here don't actually start until 7 PM, but they want you there early to check in and take pictures - and buy stuff. We waited as long as we could to wake up DS3 and let's just say that he looks half asleep in all of the pictures that came with our seats.

We were seated in the front row of the Red and Yellow Knight's section. The meal began with tomato soup and flatbread. The drink choices were regular or Diet Coke (although the ordering of alcohol for additional money was encouraged). We “special ordered” Sprite for the kids (my kids are NOT having caffeine at 7 PM!)

Soon the show began. The prince:

Then our meals came out – chicken, ribs, and steak fries. DH called ahead to order the vegetarian meal, so he got a skewer of grilled veggies over a bed of rice or couscous (I don't remember) – and a fork!

Then the joust began! They lowered big net curtains in front of us:

After the tournament, but still during the show, they brought out dessert and coffee. We had apple turnovers.

Once the show was over, you could go out and get autographs and pictures with all of the characters.
Here we are with our knight!

This last picture was taken at about 9:30 at night. Luckily, the drive back down 192 went much faster at night and we still got to bed soon after 10 PM. This was good because the next morning we were doing rope drop at the Magic Kingdom!

When we last left off, we had just gone to bed after supper at Medieval Times. We woke up early the next morning, finished off the muffins we brought from home, and caught the internal bus down to the Settlement. We only waited for a few minutes for the boat to the Magic Kingdom! This is one of my most favorite things about staying at the Fort. I LOVE that boat ride!

We were running a little behind when I wanted to arrive, so we had to watch the opening show from outside the turnstyles.

Our first goal for this morning was Rapunzel. Since we weren't even through the turnstyles when the rope dropped, I was really nervous! I took the two girls and we hustled our way directly to the Fairytale garden. We made the cutoff for the 9:15 show by only 2 families – WHEW!

We spent our morning with a little Tomorrowland and a lot of Fantasyland.

Then we had lunch with some friends from the 100 Acre Wood! We had an 11:30 ADR at Crystal Palace. I love having the 1st seating at a buffet. The food is always fresh and the restaurant less crowded.

After lunch, we took DS3 for his 1st trip over to Tom Sawyer's Island. He could have spent the whole day there!

We explored a little more Adventureland and returned to Tomorrowland before it was time to eat (again).

MIL, the girls, and I had a 4 PM ADR at CRT! The girls had a great time and the food was pretty good.

We met back up with DH, FIL, and DS3 in Tomorrowland and after a few more attractions, decided to check out the new Storybook Circus. The new Dumbo is awesome! By this point, it was approaching 9 PM. We had been in the park for 12 hours and the kids were starting to drag (as was I)! We decided to skip the parade and fireworks and just get back to the Fort. Nobody complained, and we made our standard 10 PM bedtime.

Up next, the Flower & Garden Festival!

great update but I'm sorry I don't think that Rapunzel looks anything like the Rapunzel in the movie-lol!

Thursday, March 22 was our Epcot day. DH gets BAD motion sickness on Disney buses, so we just drove to the park. We arrived just before 9 AM and I have to say that the new “no rope drop” procedure was really nice. We started the morning with Spaceship Earth which is one of the kids' favorites.

Then we were off to Imagination which was empty this early in the morning.

Next we made our way over to The Land. I drool over all of the awesome plants in there every trip.

Then it was time to use our Soarin' fastpasses. DS3 was tall enough this trip for the very first time and he LOVED it!

After some lunch at Sunshine Seasons, DH and I convinced MIL and FIL to take the kids for a few hours while we headed into the World Showcase. The topiary outside the butterfly garden was pretty.

The gardens in Canada were beautiful.

I love all of the topiaries. These in France were fun!

Then we met back up with the kids to watch Miyuki. The girls and I saw her for the first time back in July and I knew that DH would enjoy the show too. Both girls got picked to select an animal.

DS3 enjoyed seeing this guy in Japan.

I thought this guy in China was really creative.

After walking around the WS for a few hours, we had supper at Via Napoli. The food there was REALLY good, but the atmosphere was very noisy.

After supper, we decided we were tired and made our way back to the Fort.

Great flower fest photos! Can't wait to see it soon. How great that you got to tour with just your DH!

My youngest, that I'm taking with me, is about the pickiest eater going asked to go back to Via Napoli.
