Pregnancy VIP Fastpass??

First, op I'm sorry someone lied to you - no pg fast pass.

However, it seems like some posters think that being pregnant is no big deal and are being a little rude. If pregnancy was no big deal for you that's great. Others of us had a much harder time. I threw up every single day for 7 months. I was severely dehydrated because even WATER triggered my nausea. Prescription anti nausea medicine was all that would get me thru a workday, but I still got sick. I was insanely swollen from 4 months on - couldn't wear any shoes but flip flops! I had no strength to do anything the last few months and I was using the motorized carts at the grocery store the last few weeks.

We have been to Disney tons of times, and didn't go on our planned trip while i was pg because we knew I couldn't do it, but that's not an option for everyone. Some women are probably deserving of a gac while pg! Just like people keep saying yu shldnt judge someone in a wheelchair that you think looks healthy, please don't assume all pg women feel the same way you did.

Well I was on bedrest from month 5 on so Disney wasn't even a remote possibility for me either

I had hyperemesis for my entire pregnancy. I couldn't go to the grocery store, let alone Disney. Pregnant women with difficult or complicated pregnancies shouldn't be going to Disney. They do have the option of not going. WDW vacations are not life or death.

Only if they actually have a disability. Needing to pee isn't a valid accomidation otherwise every family with little kids would have the VIPee pass.

I'm going to lobby Disney for a fastpass for peeing. I'd need one after another.

This reminds me of my OB's policy - "Sick notes will be reserved for those who are truly sick, not just pregnant." Love it!

I was just trying to look out for my sis, who will be 8 mo. preggo when we go to DW. Just trying to help her anyway that I can. Thanks for all the answers, but I don't appreciate the rude ones.

I would not do any ride that required a seat belt or any of the rollercoasrers at 8months, BTW

Any woman whose pregnancy causes an illness or condition that qualifies her for a GAC is probably able to get one. But pregnancy itself is not a disability.

Oh I love your OB!!!

Also agree with if it is so hard to get around Disney Pregnant, Don't go. Seems pretty simple to me.

I can understand why Disney can't go down that road, because where would it end . . .

But, in general, pregnancy can be really hard. I think it would be nice if pregnant women were taken care of a bit more. :lovestruc

Yes, pregnancy can be hard, and that's why accommodations should be made so they are taken care of when doing things they HAVE to do. Extra breaks at work, giving up your seat on the bus, etc. But accommodations so their Disney trip can be easier??? Truly unnecessary.

Pregnant women also need to take care of themselves, and if you're having a hard pregnancy where routine things ares difficult, that means no Disney. Disney does take care of pregnant women - they offer free water at CS places so that we don't get dehydrated, they give us warnings about which rides are not appropriate to experience, and they provide benches all over the place to rest our weary feet. What else do you need to feel taken care of a bit more? A complementary foot massage at the end of the day would be absolutely perfect, but that's why I have DH.:thumbsup2

If a person gets pregnant, they should be responsible enough to take care of themselves. Of the billions of people on this earth, a pregnant woman is not a revolutionary concept.

My kids were given a bathroom FP by Paige Turner at DHS. DD11 (10 at the time) later asked me if she should use it when we needed to make a pit stop. :lmao:

For those who aren't familiar with Paige Turner, she's a streetmosphere character. The FP is a joke souvenir that she gives you if you happen across her and sign up for her fan club (which is really just writing your first name and state on a list).

I'm having trouble with the term deserving. People don't get GACs because they're deserving. They get GACs because they need an accomodation due to some kind of disability whether it's temporary or permanent. You can have somebody who is a very deserving person but that doesn't mean he or she should get a GAC because the GAC is based on NEED.

For the most part, Disney's answer to problems with standing for the time it takes to wait in a line is to get a mobility device such as a wheelchair or ECV since difficulty standing is a mobility issue. There is no such thing as a GAC to shorten waits with the exception of maybe the sickest of Make a Wish kids (who I can't imagine anybody begrudging this kind of GAC but even most MaW kids don't get this). I really can't think of a pregnancy related condition that would result in a need that couldn't be taken care of by using a mobility device, assuming the person is generally healthy enough to go to WDW in the first place. GACs can't fix everything. My DD13 is autistic and there are attractions that we simply can't go to because there IS no reasonable accomodation that Disney can provide to make these attractions doable for her. They only provide accomodations that are reasonable. It is what it is and I'm frankly grateful for what they DO provide and live what what we can't do (and consider going to these attractions in the future as goals since they require certain growth for her and they're reasons to go back again in the future).

If you have an issue that causes the need to use the bathroom frequently, do what any potty training parent would do. Stop at the bathroom before going into any line. Plan your touring ahead of time so that you won't end up in any long lines (we never wait for more than 10 minutes anywhere because of our amazing touring plans; thank you TourGuide Mike and Josh at easywdw). Doing these will eliminate the majority of situations where you'd have to leave the line due to the need for frequent bathroom breaks. If it's a really sudden urgency problem then I'd suggest wearing undergarment inserts for leaky bladders to prevent any sudden embarrassing and uncomfortable moments.

I'm not sure my DH would have touched my sweaty pregnant feet last year after a day at Disney. :lmao:

I had a brutal pregnancy with my second child and the only "GACable" aspect of it I have been able to come up with is that toward the end I had trouble with stairs. (Sciatica, both hips, suck!) The last few weeks I'd have needed an ECV but then, I wouldn't have headed off to Disney in the last few weeks of a pregnancy.

Overall either I was healthy enough to do Disney without assistance from outside my family or I wasn't in shape to do it at all. There's not a whole lot of middle ground there.

It's not a fast pass. Get a note from your ob and take it to guest services. You get a pass that your whole party can use. You go to the fast pass line at each attraction and show the cast member.

Not even close. You can't get a "pass" for your whole party by showing a note from an ob.

Hey OP! What a bummer that so many WOMEN have responded to this thread about pregnant women basically needing to suck up things being hard during pregnancy, after all, all you did was a ask a question; you certainly weren't complaining about the fast pass for pregnancy not existing! You're a great sister to think of your sis! Despite all of the criticism being pregnant can be exhausting and it's nice you were trying to think of ways to make her time more fun. I wish women would just support other women more, rather than being hard on each other.

As a side note my sister-in-law loves to share the story about how she worked a farm and milked cows until she gave birth. Well good for her, but a lot of women have issues that make strenuous work difficult during pregnancy. Also, it doesn't hurt if you're 18 when you're pregnant!
