My husband and I bought annual passes about a month before I conceived. Surprise! We were so not trying for that! Now that we are pregnant I do want everything to go smoothly but this is all new to me so I am worrying about things a lot. I have two questions for ya'll.

First, who has done Disney pregnant? We have been many times so I have ridden everything, but is it still enjoyable for hubby? I do not want him to feel as if his ride partner is gone but obviously I cannot do Space Mountain and Mission Space anymore!

Secondly, I have my doctor's appointment today, but since I found out I was pregnant I have had a cold so my temperature has been higher than because of that also. This morning my temperature dropped and I am not sure if it has to do with the cold or an impending miscarriage. Does anyone know on average how elevated your temperature gets during pregnancy? It is still higher than my normal BBT but lower than what it was yesterday.

I hope to get something soon so I do not worry to death! Thanks ladies!

Congratulations! I don't know anything about the temperature thing, but I have done Disney in various states of pregnancy and we have always had fun. I am not a thrill seeker so my husband was used to going on the big rides without me. I loved the World Showcase at Epcot when I was pregnant because we would walk a bit and then sit and eat. Just be prepared to take more breaks than usual and I think you'll both (or you three) will have a great time.

Being at Disney is great when your expecting. It's like looking at it a whole new way. Instead of what you would normally do, you get to spend some of your times doing entirely different thigns. World Show is great. Take time to go in all the shops at all the parks! Great things for infants! Watch the shows that you might have normally passed up. Take in a waterpark for lounging and lazy rivers. Have fun eating!!!!

HA! HA! Well right now the thought of eating is not desirable but I hope that will change!

Congrats!! I always worry during pregnancies up until I get my first ultrasound (10 weeks) and then I worry some more until I start to fell the baby move( around 16 weeks). Worrying is normal but try to relax anyway...I don't really think that the temp. is anything to worry about.

We leave in 2DAYS!!!!! This is my first time going to WDW pregnant...I'll let you know how it went.. I'm almost 25 weeks (6.5 months) I love the rides but obviously I'm skipping space mountain, big thunder, expedition everest, mission space, TOT, and rocking roller. But I plan on trying everything else.

Aw thanks so much! I hope your trip goes really well! I thought of going to stand in line with my husband and then walking through and laughed at what some of the people in line with us might think looking at me, haha.

I've done the WDW pregnant thing once, and since it took us a LONG time to conceive, I was very cautious and didn't do anything 'questionable'. I still had fun - many of my favorite things aren't rides, they're attractions - Beauty and the Beast, Nemo musical, IASW, Haunted Mansion, Turtle Talk, Soarin, Tough to be a Bug, Philharmagic, and the list could certainly go on - you have a TON of things you can still do. Of course, TOT is my absolute favorite - so I did sorely miss riding this myself during that one visit - but it was still worth it to go.

I would say that you shouldn't worry too much about dh losing his 'ride partner'. Look at it instead this way - it's getting you ready to go to WDW as parents. Unless you bring another adult with you - your days of riding the thrill rides together are gone anyway. Next time you go with the baby - one of you will have to stay off the thrill rides and 'baby swap' anyway. So, you're just starting to get dh used to riding these rides alone early. And there's no better reason IMO to be riding them alone than your exciting surprise!!!!

Congratulations on your pregnancy! I have been to Disney twice pregnant. Once with each of my children. The first time, I had just found out about 3 weeks earlier, so 2 days before we left for our trip, the morning sickness hit. I was pretty miserable that time. Food tasted and smelled terrible and I was very tired and nausuas. But, we made the best of it, but I still would not go again in my 1st trimester if I can plan it. Last Christmas we went again and I was 6 months pregnant with our 2nd child. It was wonderful and I felt great. The 2nd trimester is the time to go! I remember thinking a few weeks after the trip, that if it had been any later, I probably would have started feeling uncomfortable.

As for rides, I am the type to be overly cautious when I am pregnant, so while many people are still going on Splash Mountain and Sourin', I am heading the instructions to not ride if it says not recommended for pregnant women. I just wouldn't want to take any chances. The baby is way more important to me than a few minutes of fun on a ride that I know I can go on again during another trip!

This all being said, every person's pregnancy is different and you might feel great through your entire pregnancy or you may feel miserable. You have to listen to your body and what you think you can handle. Like I said, I have been there on two different occasions while pregnant with two totally different experiences based on what trimester I was in.

As for DH, he most of the time just enjoyed himself going on the rides that i could go on or last year enjoying the time with our DD, but he would only go on the "exciting" rides if he was able to get a fast pass, and I was fine with that. I would just go browse in a shop or watch a show with DD while we waited for him.

Good Luck in the next coming months as your family begins to grow!

Actually, I don't think Soarin' is listed as one of the rides for expectant mothers to avoid. You can always check on disney websites under parks, then attractions. :goodvibes

I did Disney pregnant the first time in August.. I was only a little over 3 months.. but I didn't do anything but enjoy watching my kids have fun. But..it's true...you see more things than the thrills... It's still magical :)
And..about the temperature... you're body is gonna be different.. I wouldnt' worry about it!!!

I would think that Soarin would be nast diring the first trimester if you had morning sickness but like someone saif earier first trimester visiting sounds very uncomfortable!

Well I went to the doctor and she said I looked a little pink down there so she is doing blood work to check my hcg over the next few days and put me on progesterone so hopefully everything will turn out ok and we will have to use the baby swap in eight months :)

I just wanted to wish you luck with your pregnancy. Hopefully, everything will be fine.

I did keep track of my temps both before I conceived and for a few weeeks into my first pregnancy. My normal BBT was around 97.3 (pre-ovulatory) and around 98.3 (post ovulatory). When I got pregnant, it hovered around 99.0 for the entire first trimester. I always had a temp of 99 when I went in for my early appointments. I would only worry if it goes back down to your pre-ovulatory temperature range. It's hard when you have a cold at the EXACT moment of conception. Just try to stay positive and let us know how it's going.

I went to Disneyland NUMEROUS times while I was pregnant. You can always wait in lines with your DH and then exit right before, just so he doesn't have to wait in lines alone, but he can still enjoy the "off limits" rides. Or, you can both take this time to become VERY familiar with the rides that you can ride, as these will be the same ones you'll have to enjoy as a new family, so you might as well get really familiar with them, so you can be a good judge of what you want to take your baby on. It helps to know the nuances of the dark rides and shows because once you know your baby's temperament, you'll know what he/she will like and what may not be tolerated as well.

I'm just checking up on you. I just got a faint + yesterday and today I went for blood work. I won't know if my #'s are doubling until next week some time. Hope all is well!:grouphug:

Really, don't worry about one BBT reading...it is the trend that is important...Of course you can't chart anymore because the progesterone supplements will raise your temp. I hope your labs look good and things progress well...
I went to WDW at about 10 wks gestation last year...I did do safari...but was kinda worried when on it...I didn't remember how bumpy it was. Anyway..things turned out great and we had a great trip...You will have a great time without thrill rides...it is WDW after all!!
