I just found out im pregnant :goodvibes and I am planning on making my next DL vacation for next June. My baby wont be due until July, so I will be going on my trip a month before due date.

Please unblock my memory. I know this question has been asked multiple times on this thread but which rides can pregnant women go on?

The list is easier for CAN'T go on. Space Mountain, Matterhorn, Indiana Jones, Splash Mountain, California Screamin, Tower of Terror, Mulholland Madness, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and I also think that Star Tours does not allow Pregnant Women. I was preggo with my son and went on nearly all of these but it was early and I didn't look preggers yet. You will not have that luxury.

I see you're in Canada, which is a lot of traveling. You might want to check with your doctor about how late in your pregnancy they'll let you travel before planning the trip too much. My doctor didn't want me traveling past 36 weeks and most airlines (if you're flying) won't allow somebody to fly that close to their due date.

But congrats on the baby! That's wonderul and I hope you're able to do your Disney trip.

Congrats! If you are flying just remember you cannot fly past your 36th week:goodvibes

My suggestion as well.

While it may seem strange to have so many other people making decisions about what you can and can't do, and when... as someone whose 1st baby was born at 36 weeks; I can definitely attest that the rules are there for a reason!

Maybe you could move your trip dates up a bit?

Congrats and best wishes for a smooth, easy pregnancy... and delivery! ;)

I am kindof stuck as well.... My DH and I have been trying to get Pregnant and I will be going on a fertility pill in a couple days... My DH wants me to wait until after DL next month to start since I wont know by then if the pill worked.. Anyways.. should I wait? I will ask my DR as well on Wednesday but I want to get PG SOON and want to ride the rides as well... Best of both worlds I guess..

You can fly after 36 weeks with a note from your doctor. I went on vacation at 37 weeks with DD. Some doctors would be ok with it, some would not. I don't know that I would personally want to do a Disney vacation at that point though. That is a lot of walking for late pregnancy!

GREAT! Thanks so much everyone thats all really helpful. Your right though I might have to bump up the trip a bit which would be totally cool by me :thumbsup2

I will have to check with the Dr. to see what he would allow me to do. But I mean thats expected to not allow someone to travel after a certain amount of time.

RuthieT I would totally check with your Dr. also and see what he recommends.

RuthieT:

I think you should go ahead and go. The rides aren't very rough at Disneyland and the baby is WELL protected. The only rides in DL I wouldn't go on is Space Mountain, Indiana Jones, and Mattehorn.

At DCA I would avoid Tower of Terror and Screamin'.

Good luck with the fertility drugs!!! How exciting!!! :yay:

Go ahead and go to DL. You might be pregnant you might not be. Having gone through fertility myself, I hope you are! :wizard:

Anyway, my DH and I were going through fertility treatments in 1999. We went to DL in early December and found out we were pg 2 weeks later. So, technically, I was pg at DL and had no ill effects from all the rides, including the Matterhorn. Go and enjoy, besides, taking your mind off it for a while can help.

Congrats on the pregnancy!!!:goodvibes
There are signs outside of the rides expectant mothers should not go on. On our last trip, My sister who is pregnant came with us. Actually, there were quite a few more rides than I thought that had the sign "Expectant mothers should not ride" -- but they let you know which ones are safe with all of the signs.
Just a note -- I had my 1st baby 6 weeks early (don't mean to scare you, but thank goodness we were close to home by a NICU) -- so check with your doctor about how late in your pregnancy you can travel! :wizard:

If I do get pregnant between now and our trip I will be at most 4 weeks along. My DH just doesnt want anything to happen to the baby if I am pregnant. But I will talk with my DR tomorrow to find out for sure what I should or shouldnt do.

I went to Disneyland in May 2006 when i was 6 months pregnant. It was one of my favorite trips because I did a lot of things I usually pass by on the way to Space Mountain, Splash Mountain or any of the other popular rides you aren't supposed to ride pregnant.

I watched the Princess story time in the Princess shop, watched the parade up close a few times (thats usually when I'm hitting the rides), watched Playhouse Disney and Turtle Talk with Crush, and so many other things I hadn't seen in so many years of going.

I think I was even more excited about having the baby and seeing all the fun "kid" things I would be taking him to after he was born.

It was a relaxing trip and I had a great time!

My little stinker of a son was born 2 weeks late!

Good luck with everything! I'll be going Monday and Tuesday of Thanksgiving week, and I'll be 4 1/2 months pregnant. I really want to get on all the rides I can with the family! I Can't wait to go!
