I am going to be about 11 weeks pregnant when we hit WDW. I was looking through my unofficial guide and almost all the rides at AK are to be avoided for pregnant woman. Should we even go?

I was about 12 weeks with DS, and had a great time at AK. Sure I couldn't do Dinosur or Kali River Rapids, but still being small I chose to ride the Safari and had NO trouble. I didn't find it too bumpy at all. One of the best parts of AK is the Lion King Show, and I really enjoy the animal trails. IMO you don't go to AK for the rides, you go for the theming and all the great animal exhibits (I know - it's not a zoo;) ) But for me, it's the best zoo ever, and I love going to the zoo.

Kali River Rapids is not bumpy to me. You are in water floating along, it goes fast at spots and there is a mild drop, but it's not like you're slamming into the sides or anything. Does that ride say not for preggers?

Congrats, BTW!

Yes, it does say not to ride if you are pregnant.

Gosh! That's surprising, but if that's what it says, than by all means, DO NOT ride it!

I went in 2002 while 4 months preggo. I chose to go on everything I wanted including Space Mountain (did not do Splash Mountain though). I held my bag in front of my belly while on line so the CM wouldn't forbid me. I did speak with my Ob/Gyn before going and she said that I should just avoid the upside down roller coasters. She actually looked surprised when I asked if I could go on rides. She was like, "Why not?" Then again, I like her because she is not an alarmist.

All was fine, but I guess you have to realize that if something did happen you'd probably feel terrible.

I also did several slides at Blizzard Beach. This was my second pregnancy.

I was thinking about this. We were trying but decided to wait until after Disney to try again. Anyway, I went when I was 11 weeks preggo with DS and I did the Safari. I avoided Space Moutain and stuff like that but now that I think about it I don't think there is really anything wrong with it. Baby is so tiny at that point and very well cushioned in your tummy. There are some things I would avoid such as TOT, RnR Coaster and Dinosaur becuse they are rough and/or have huge drops. I think it is still best to discuss this with your Doc first though. Congrats and have fun!!
