I have ressies for Oct 3-9th I booked the preferred buliding. On my printout it says preferred view room. My question is does preferred view just mean the 60's building? I want a Pool view so do I have to call and request that?

Yep it does, the 60's are the preferred buildings. And if you have a res there it just means that you'll be in one of the two buildings. I would reccommend making a request for it, it most likely won't be guaranteed it, but you'll be more likely to get it than someone who doesn't make a request. Also feel free to mention it when you get to the resort at check in. It never hurts but at the same time don't assume that you wil automatically get it. Well cya real soon :0)pirate:

More than likely you'll get that request. Most guests don't like a room facing the pool because of all the late night noise!

There is no such thing as a "Preferred View"... my guess is that whoever inputted that room code into the system assumed that it was like the other resorts where you have a MK View or whatnot. *shrug*

At any rate, it guarantees you a room in the 1960's, which is buildings 4 and 5. If you wish for a lake view, or a pool view, you should request it... however, realize that not all requests can be granted.

I would like to caution you of requesting a pool view in the 1960s -- The pool is open until midnight, and there could potentially be noise up until that point. Although the room doors damper most of the noise, those who are sensative to noises might wish to preference another view. Most folks should be fine, though.

I actually requested a pool view. Now I realize it's a hold over from when my dd was little. Now I'm thinking I should skip the extra $10 per day for preferred and take whatever is available at checkin. Is there a lake view? The map looks like if you had a lake view, you would also have a view of the construction on the other side. Comments please...

The last time we stayed at the POP, we were in the "A" 70's building. Our room was 6338 (third floor, with a nice "Lake view" looking North). It was very quiet. To see the construction on the other side of Hourglass Lake you need a view to the east and all of the buildings on the lake have certain wings that would provide such a view. However, when we were there, construction had halted.

Yes, you can view the lake... you could also view Epcot, and IllumiNations. As for the construction... it's not really that bad. There is no active construction going on.
