Being our first cruise, I am admittedly somewhat naive, but by looking at the route on the 4-Day Wonder sailing it appears we would be significantly better off selecting a Port side room as opposed to Starboard if we want to enjoy morning coffee on the veranda and have a nice view of the islands. Is this the case? Am I totally off base here?

We were on the starboard side in December, and from our verandah we had a perfect view of Castaway Cay. On our day in Nassau, we faced away from the island. Once the ship that was next to us pulled out, we had a fabulous ocean view. If you follow this link the first picture that will appear is the view of the ocean from our verandah while we were in Nassau. You'll find out Castaway Cay pictures (again from the verandah) here .

We loved our room's location (Deck 5 aft, starboard side, Cat. 7--5634).
