I thought I read recently somewhere that the preferred rooms have changed again and the whole 60's building is preferred. Does anyone know if this is correct or did I imagine this?

but look forward to a response as I am leaving in two days and have a preferred room.

We just returned from POp and were in a standard room in the 60's. We were building 4, 2nd floor, lake view. It was the perfect spot!

We were in preferred rooms at Pop three weeks ago. 50's Section, Building 1 Rooms 1106/1107. We thought they were in a perfect location. Easy walk to Classic Hall and near, but not across from, the Bowling Pin Pool.

I wouldn't look at the map that kaytieeldr posted too close. We just got back from staying in a preferred room, 6116. It isn't highlighted on that map. It was a good room, being convenient to pools and Classic Hall. It was however, about 10 miles from the closet parking. Well, it seemed like it was that far anyway.

I don't think you will find many preferred rooms to be close to parking lots. In fact, the parking lots are all off to the sides of the resort. I've stayed in bldg 2 in 50's and on the back side of 80's, as well as a 50's room that is now considered 'preferred'. Unless you want to be closer to the pools, I wouldn't worry about being in a preferred room. Those rooms seem to be the rooms closest to the three pools, for the most part. Or are very close to the main bldg.
I'm going to POP in Dec and then again in Jan...neither time have I requested a preferred room.
