Sorry if this question has been asked before. I was wondering as to what some opinions are as to getting a preferred room. We will be staying at Pop. I wouldnt mind being close to where the lobby and food court is. But then again dont mind walking. But is it worth paying for? Is it really noticeable that it is a preferred room?

thanks!

We are staying at CBR in October and we did pay extra for a preferred room. I didn't want to schlep halfway across the resort to get the the main pool or the main building where the food court is. CBR is a large resort. I also have some health issues that make long treks difficult.

It's honestly up to you whether you want the convenience or not.

Yes it is EXTREMELY worth it in my opinion! We had a room ground floor next to the pool and loved the location. We were 30 seconds to the food court and 5 seconds to the pool. It wasn't noisy or anything and at the end of the day, it was the best money spent on not walking to the other end of the resort. Plus, if we were hungry or wanted to refill our mugs, it was a quick trip over and back.

We stayed at Pop 2 years ago and had to have preferred as this was all that was left when we booked - sooooo glad, it was very worth it. I was slightly concerned as lots of people said that being opposite the Hippy Dippy pool would be noisy, but we were so tired at bedtime that we fell straight asleep. It doesn't cost much more for preferred anyway.

YES YES YES!!! Paying the extra for a preferred room at POP is money well spent. ;)
There are some standard rooms that are almost as close as the preferred (and of course are slightly cheaper because they are considered std). But when you get a std room, there is no guarantee which bldg it will be in. The preferred rooms are mostly in the 60's bldgs with selected sections of the 50's and 70's bldgs been preferred also. The other parts of the 50's and 70's are very reasonable. But in my honest opinion, I think the 80's and 90's are ridiculously far from classic hall. We spent 1 night in the 80's bldg facing the parking lot. It took us almost 10 min for DD to walk to the room. By the time we got back from filling our mugs, our mugs were empty. There is a good chance that you could get a std room in an excellent location in the 50's or 70's, but there is an equally good chance you could get a poorly located room in the 80's or 90's. When I wanted a preferred room and they didn't have any, I requested a room in the 50's or 70's. I got one in the furtherest part of the 80's. That's why now, I always always try to get a preferred. But that is just me. It's a hike to the bus stops, guest services, the food court....
I say go preferred :thumbsup2 unless you're travelling the same dates we are (then std is a good choice, that way I'll get my preferred room :rolleyes1 JK)

Your money, your choice.

Note that not NEARLY every preferred room can, logistically, be 30 seconds from the food court and five seconds from the pool. Some standard rooms will be closer to the lobby than some preferred rooms.

NO room at Pop is more than 750 feet from the center of Classic Hall.

ok i'm a lil confused . Is the food court near the main building? My main reason for a prefered room is to be closer to main building/bus.
I have such a migrane maybe why I'm confused

The food court is IN Classic Hall - the main building. Again, it's each person's choice to spend her/his money as she/he sees fit, but because, by design, VERY FEW rooms can be "30 seconds from Classic Hall and 5 seconds from the pool", and because NO room is more than 750 from the Center of Classic Hall, I would not spend the extra money.

Have you looked at the Pop FAQ? There's a map of the resort there. If you look at the layout, maybe it's easier to understand.
