Preferred Annual Pass Discounts--WWoHP

I heard that the preferred annual pass discounts will apply to food and merchandise at WWoHP, but the fine print on Universal's website says "•10% saving at Universal Orlando owned & operated merchandise stores and carts (excluding Wizarding World of Harry Potter, The Coin mint and Mystics of the Seven Veils)."

Has anyone used a preferred annual pass to get discounts on WWoHP merchandise? What about the "hot items" like wands, robes, and pigmy puffs?

I've never had a problem using it at WWoHP, but I'm assuming you can't use it at the outdoor carts, as is the case many times in Universal.

Used mine yesterday for the first time and was able to get 10% off everything I bought. Zonko's/Honeyduke's (including a pygmy puff), Filch's, Three Broomsticks, Hogs Head Tavern (butterbeer), and even Bubba Gump at CityWalk. Never tried a cart for the butterbeer since Hogs Head had less line.

you will get discount in US and IOA as well as Citywalk shops and restaurants, but like pp said not all carts are able to give you the discount as they are not linked into the system

I read that too (I read everything!! ) so I didn't even TRY asking for my discount at WWOHP. Then one day I was there with my hubby and he asked at Three Broomsticks. I opened my mouth to tell him they didn't accept discounts there and they were already ringing him up with the discount!

Bottom line: Ask everywhere!
