WONDERING HOW TO REQUEST A PARTICULAR VIEW AND WHAT THE CHANCES OF GETTING IT ARE?
WHAT ARE THE BEST VIEWS FROM BWV & VWL? ARE THE ROOMS OVERLOOKING THE BOARDWALK WORTH THE VIEW W/ALL THE BIRDS?
WE ARE NEW TO THIS FORUM BUT LIKE THE PEOPLE SO FAR.

Some people say they have gotten the Boardwalk view if they made their reservations 11 months out. Well, I have always made my reservations 11 months out and have NEVER gotten the view of the Boardwalk. We have gotten a center pool view several times and a couple of times a side view of the pool. So, I can say you don't get what you ask for very often, even when making your ressies 11 months out. Guess it is because there are not that many boardwalk view rooms in the preferred view category. I think it is a matter of which rooms happen to open up on the day you check in. We have always gone during a busy season and have to wait for a room to be cleaned before we get it. I have not stayed at VWL yet but took the tour and from what I remember, it would either be asking for a room that faces the back/pool area or a view of the walkway/entrance. Happy planning!

hi and welcome to the board. we've stayed at bwv in 1br pv and have never gotten a bw view. however, i never requested it either. my priorities are non-smoking/top floor. it's fairly easy to get that since the entire 5th floor is non-smoking. our views have included the pools and the canal with a view of the s/d. i did request a bw view for my son's honeymoon stay there this august. i made their ressie at 11 months out with a notation that this is their honeymoon so we'll see if it happens. it might be nice to have if you want to people watch or take pics of the yc/bc. we usually try for standard view to save on points. we would like to try the vwl at some point as well.

So what is a preferred view? From what I have read on this I am guessing it may include a boardwalk view but no necessarily??? We have the PV booked for 12/15-22 (someone else booked for us at the 11 month window) and am wondering what we may get and should I change to the standard view.

We went in May of last year on cash (we weren't members at that time). Checked in on a Wednesday about 1 pm. Got a boardwalk view that was great. Hadn't even asked for one because I didn't know enough. Also was able to check in immediately.

Going again this May on points and requested a Boardwalk view. Hope that doesn't jinx it!

we only stayed at bwv once and we got a perfect boardwalk view. granted, it was a studio in January. we requested bwk view on the reservation and again at check in. Easy as pie. But, based on the other posts I guess I shouldn't expect for future visits!!

PV WOULD BE A VIEW OF THE BW OR THE POOLS. I THINK THERE IS A PV OF THE GARDEN AREA ALSO. IN OTHER WORDS IT'S A VIEW IN HIGH DEMAND. WHAT I WAS WANDERING ABOUT IS THE BIRDS WITH A BW VIEW. MIKESMOM STAYED THERE, DID YOU HAVE PROBLEMS WITH THE BIRDS AND THE MESS THEY LEAVE BEHIND, OR DIVE BOMBING YOU. IS IT TO NOISY. WE ARE GOING IN NOV., THE BEST TIME TO GO IN MY OPINION.

Never had a problem with birds. No dive bombing, no mess. We were Boardwalk view on the 2nd floor (same floor as check-in desk). We were there 1st week of June. Our room was directly over the coffee kiosk in front of the General Store.

We used the balcony a LOT. DH and I were out there almost every night having a glass of wine, the 2 boys were out there often leaning over to people watch (actually, I suspect, girl watch). We loved the balcony, the location, and the view. We often had food out there and never had a bird problem. Maybe they don't like the smell of coffee?
