Just wanted opinions on the best way of getting to the park. I am going by Eurostar in June and was thinking about flying in Oct but I live 20 mins from an airport and 30 mins from Eurostar and just wondered if the hassle of flying was really worth it when its quite easy to get on the train and be actually in the park when you get off the traain rather than transfer from the airport to Disney although its only Adults going so no kids, pushchairs etc to worry about!

for me it'll have to be the train. I know it's cheaper to fly but the hassle of getting to and from the airport plus being at the airport 2 hours in advance etc etc. we live one stop away from st.pancras and not far from waterloo. getting to the airport is also ok but I find the train a ot more comfy than the plane.

sorry, just my opinion...:thumbsup2

I would go with Eurostar. Personally though I prefer to drive as you are not limited by what you can take. I'm lucky enough to live near Eurotunnel or the ferries though.

I live a good three hours away from Ashford but I still prefer to drive there and use Eurostar. Generally more relaxing than flying and minimal check in time, especially good when coming home as gives more time in the parks.

i Live right next to heathrow and actually prefer driving as well... much easier than eurostar and flying, we go at our own pace, pack as much as we want and enjoy the scenary! :lovestruc

Eurostar was fine for us when we booked through a travel agent, but I found when I wanted to book myself I couldn't get a seat during school holiday times - all booked up.:sad2:
Driving is time consuming but you get to the Park exactly when you want to - we have been there in time for EMH, which is not possible on Eurostar. Also you can take as many souvenirs home as you want. :yay:
If you live close to a major airport then flying can be good as you get a large choice of flights and can be in Paris much earlier than the Eurostar. My flight in 10 days time will land at 8.25 am at CDG.

So although the one time I used Eurostar I thought it was good, I wouldn't be knocking myself out to use it again.

If I were you, I'd opt for Eurostar. :thumbsup2

We always used to travel on it, combining it with a couple of days in London beforehand ~ it's so great getting off the train and you're at the parks! :yay:

It was so easy coming home too, we just used to hop off at Waterloo, run round to the other platform and within a few minutes were usually on a train home! Unfortunately, now that it goes from St Pancras it just isn't so convenient for us so I doubt we'll use it again, we now fly from Southampton instead.

I fly because I live very close to a regional airport with great flight times to CDG - but if I lived near the Eurostar departure points for DLRP, I'd use Eurostar. Its the most hassle-free way of getting there - straight into the Magic.

has to be train my dh has done both now he will only go by es. more time in the park !!! :dance3:

Eurostar is fabulous if you're close by, the 4-5 hour drive from South Wales isn't so great and why I think we'll revert to flying for our future trips, despite having the most awful experience the first time we visited, flew and found a transport strike on in France. 6.00am 30 minute flight from Bristol and we arrived at the Cheyenne late afternoon. I vowed then never to fly again.

Its less than an hour from the London airports to CDG, same for the Midlands. Might be slightly longer for departures from Wales, North of England and Scotland.

although we have a 4/5 hour drive to the Eurostar we love it. I feel really chilled out just watching the french countryside go by. I love the feeling of excitement and anticipation as your approaching dlp wondering when you're going to get the first glimpse of the park.

I have never actually seen the park when on the Eurostar lol maybe im just looking in the wrong direction.

I think it's Space Mountain you see first on the Eurostar, but it's only easy to see if you're by a window seat, facing the right way and sitting on a certain side of the train and know when to look, and it's only a fleeting look.

Actual air time from Bristol discounting take off and landing is around 40 mins, we flew with BA and by the time they'd brought a snack and drink around and cleared it away again we were there. It was just the 6 hours at CDG waiting for a bus in sleety rain that put me off. :rotfl:
