We’re taking this opening thing too seriously. And while the virus is terribly serious, maybe we can have let’s have some fun.

You can base it on fact, fiction, or what the bus driver said.

Give us DS, first park, resorts, however you see it.

don’t have to justify, but no insults or criticism. Let’s just see what we all think.

I’ll start. DS May 15.
Resorts June 1
Parks June 1, but only to resort guests
Everything open to everyone June 15.

Who’s next?

Are the 3 other threads where people speculate and put in their own predictions not enough? Also, this is supposed to be the Rumors and News board, not for speculation and wild guessing...

so I guess you don’t have one, then?

i agree, DIS’s mandatory click policy can be invasive. If only we could just skip threads we don't want to read ....

Ok I'll play...

DS will "open" in may but in reality it will likely only be a few stores and probably no restaurants as a trial. Disney locations may even be ran by retained managers rather than bringing back furloughed CMs at this point.

Park/Resort CMs called back mid to late may.

Going by Shanghai, they will need at least 6 weeks to prep the parks/resorts and for CM training.

This means MK and DVC resorts and perhaps pop will be looking towards mid july at the earliest now for opening.

DHS/AK and more resorts would likely be 3 to 4 weeks after that.

Epcot will be closed for several months.

For Parks? MK and potentially DHS in early to Mid July "soft opening" (with lots of restrictions, and only half capacity), to test the waters. If things are successful, then AK opens up in a few weeks, and then finally Epcot. No way Disney will keep Epcot closed months after the other parks open, IMO.

Disney Springs? I originally thought July, but maybe mid June as a test run. Not everything open, lots of restrictions. This will likely be the test run on whether the parks could open up safely in July.

Resorts? Not sure. Maybe the MK resorts open up with MK? I'm not convinced they will open up before the parks, as some assert. At least one park will be open if they open up any resorts.

Water Parks? No Clue. I could see them being pushed back until next year.

I'll make two. Prediction one is based on all guests at once (local, national, international etc....)

DS June 15
Resorts July 1
MK only July 15
HS, AK Aug 1
EP - Oct '21 as part of 50th celebrations

Prediction two is based on opening to guests in stages:

DS May 15 - Florida residents only
Resorts and MK - June 15 - Florida only
HS, AK - July 1 - Florida only
Parks and resorts open to all US - July 15, to International guests sometime in the fall
EP - Oct 21

Oct 21 is a bit controversial for epcot!

I was thinking very late this year or early next year.

What would work best for economic stabilization and customer satisfaction:

DS May 15.
Resorts May 18
Parks June 1, but only to resort guests
Everything open to everyone June 10

What they’ll do if they cow tow to the panic crowd:

DS June 15
Resorts June 15
Parks Aug 1, but only to resort guests
Everything open to everyone Sept 15

I am about 10 to 15 days later than your guesses, but in the same sequence

Of course this is all personal opinion but I believe it will be open in waves. So first, Florida residents and only MK and then pass holder at a time. Also, opening each park at a time, HS being the last. I think the order will be MK, EC, AK, HS. HS last because it can be very congested. I think this will begin July 1st. May seems to close to todays date for me.

This is a very good point. But DHS is arguably the "go to" park right now, which I think is why they'll try to open it as soon as they can.

OK, I will play.....
-Disney Springs opens by 5/15, shops and dining with occupancy restrictions;
-Parks/resorts 6/1 with limited attendance. Not sure how they regulate attendance whether it's resort guests only or not but I do know it's not pass holders only, no way to estimate who will be coming to the parks but resort reservations give them a better viewpoint with guaranteed hotel dollars. Sorry to all the pass holders- But if they do resort guests only and then other ticket holders....as they monitor occupancy numbers.
-Back to business as usual by 7/4.

No factual data was used in these predictions outside of my medical degree I earned reading bologna Facebook articles, watching lame news media stories and my friend's anecdotal stories. Therefore I am practically a colleague of Dr. Fauci 🤣

Throwing a wrench in all of what we predicted, what if they open resorts and parks and there are no attendance restrictions on who goes in to parks and Disney implements the tiered hierarchy they use on busy park attendance days that gives priority to resort guest, pass holders, etc??? That's maybe more familiar territory for Disney. They really don't alienate any one group that way. No blood on their hands.
