Predicting the future for Park Reservations?

I’m getting close to booking our park reservations for April and I have no clue if I should book the days, just in case EMH comes back. What are your thoughts here? We are staying at The Grand Californian, so hoping guests get some early entry by then.

So should I book park days inline with what they used to offer, just in case? What are others doing to decide their days, when we can’t predict the future with Disney?

My advice: don’t try to guess. Just book what you want. If new info comes out later, you can try to adjust.

Booking around a guess as to what might happen in the future is just setting yourself up for disappointment if it doesn’t happen.

While not officially 'guaranteed' ... the odds of a Resort guest being blocked from their desired park reservation is pretty slim, in my guess. I made "same day" park reservations for Thanksgiving weekend as guests at the Grand Cal. I think you'll be OK.

I'm not convinced my room only reservation booked through a third party will give me any such perk of getting to swith my park days reservation. So I think this is a very valid question and I will probably try to book my days based on the old extra magic hours calendar and just hope. This lack of clarity is making planning a trip extra challenging!

What was the old calendar again?

From memory - Monday, Wednesday, Friday: DCA. Tuesday and Thursday: DL.

What was Sunday?

Sunday was DL -- my absolute favorite time in Disneyland is Fantasyland on an early Sunday morning!

I am pretty sure Saturday was Disneyland and Sunday was DCA before it was closed due to the pandemic.

Disney still has the info up on their website. It's changed! Sundays used to be DL! DL was Tues, Thurs, Sundays for many years. I have it saved it my files. I guess I have to update them! And hope that we get some XMH soon!
