Wanted to get peoples opinion on what they think free dining will look like next year. Will it even exist? Will there be more restrictions? Only preferred or special view rooms? My big guess for next year is that and they will downgrade the moderates to the QS plan.

My prediction is that they will increase the ticket requirement from a two day ticket to at least 3 day tickets.

From what people are saying here, it looks like most had to get a preferred or upgraded room this year in order to get the free dining. IF they offer it, I think it will probably stay the same as this year. It sounds like they aren't having much trouble filling regular rooms, but those garden/pool/pirate rooms are staying empty. Now they are full.

There are less and less offerings for all discount options. They may not need to offer FD too much longer.

September. But with restricted availablity. Can't even guess as to whether it will be offered any other time.

Does anyone want to give an opinion on if they will keep up with the Free Dining Bounce Back offers? That's how we've been lucky enough to continue to get FD.

I think they definiately will. We have our 2016 offers now here in the UK (we always get them mid April for the coming year) there is an extra perk this time of free Memory Maker. There is no way they offer it to the UK market and then not to the US.

UK offers are totally different from US offers. while UK offers have been growing in scope and inclusions, US offers have been narrowing.

The extra perk isn't with the free dinning but with ultimate tickets and it's rumoured to be linked to potential renovation of Disney quest which is gone form the tickets for last year.

While we had offering for next year the number of rooms must have been substantially less as many regular rooms in many resorts, for many date are already sold out and we are talking as far as August 2016. The year before I was looking in October and they still had availability.

It's good to know that UK has offers out for 2016. It gives me hope for next year.
This year (and last), the Canadian offer was the same as the Americans, but we had an additional two weeks we could book, mid- late August.

Yep, but if the dollar keeps bouncing back, offer will get less on the uk site, just like they did to Canada.

I hope so, but I'm budgeting for next year's trip with the assumption that there won't be free dining. It'll be a nice bonus if we do, but with all the changes and whatnot, well, I'm planning on having to pay for food and we'll go from there.

I am planning a family trip for November 2016 and am using the SPD discount as my budget $$, + 5%. Except for Columbus Day week/weekend and a few other traditionally FD blackout dates, I think there will be some sort of discount for Fall 2016. wondering if SPD maybe be what we see for October/November if FD goes away for that timeframe. If there is FD probably fewer rooms and POR/POFQ/ASMo/LM rooms excluded.

I think public FD will be late August to just before F&W starts in 2016. I think the past two years have shown late October and mid November FD is unnecessary. But there will be discount of some sort then, just not as generous,

Well, just out of curiousity, I priced similar dates of our 2015 trip for 2016 (3rd week of Sept with free dining at AoA). Our Nemo room is $60/a night more expensive (from $302/nite to $362). Cars and Lion King are $50 more than 2015. To me, this says that yes free dining is coming back next year, but it will not be as good of a deal. They are upping the price of the rooms to make up the difference. Who knows about availability? We had trouble initially getting the Nemo room and started out in a generic Family suite. I kept checking and a few weeks later got the Nemo suite we wanted. So, the impression I got (and who knows?) they only released a small number of rooms, but with all the cancellations, moving around, etc. they had more vacancies then they expected and released more.

I was curious.

Nine nights at Pop (preferred) starting 10/2 this year (Friday, the last night you could get FD until the end of October) $1346 with tax, so an average of $149.5 per night

Nine nights at Pop (preferred) starting 9/30 next year (also a Friday, assuming the FD cut off would be roughly the same) $1602 ($178 a night).

That's definitely a jump. I will definitely be hoping for discounts, that's for sure.

Going in September with FD, from your experience what has the bounce back been during that time. Always free dining? And if so what dates roughly. Hoping to book bounce back with FD to go the following year with Mom and sisters, but both there jobs require ++ notice in order to get vacation, unlike mine.

We've done bounceback offers for the last 4 or 5 years I believe. I only ever look at end of August as I am a teacher so need to be back for school after Labor Day - usually starts around third week of August. From what I remember, September included and some dates for Oct. Nov.Dec too, but again, I'm really only paying attention to August. Good luck and fingers crossed for both of us! These offers have always been for Free Dining (may have been other offers at the time, but we only paid attention to the FD offers).
