I'm very excited today because I booked the MK Wishes Dessert Party for our day at the MK. My plan for that day is this..
TheMK opens at 9. I want to be there when they open. We can do rides until our 10:30 reservations at the Crystal Palace. Then a few more rides and a rest at the resort. For my kids a quick dip in the pool followed by a nap. Then back to the Magic Kingdom when the sun starts to come down, maybe about 5:30/6:00, grab some fast food for dinner, do some attractions. We get to the dessert party and watch the spectromagic parade at 9:00 and the fireworks at 10:00. Then after that we'll try to stay as long as we can for extra magic hours (they end at 1am).
I think just being able to watch the parade (you can see spectromagic from there) and the fireworks without being crammed next to 1000s of other people would be worth the price on it's own.
I was thinking about booking on 8/17 for the dessert party. It is looking more and more like it will be just me and my niece, but I don't want to book the party until I know for sure.
We only have 25 more days until our trip. I'm so excited! I feel like everything has fallen into place. I have cancelled my Kona reservation and managed to secure a better time at the WAVE; 7:15, which I'm happy with. I have bought yet another cooler bag. A Thermos Raya 18 can cooler bag in the brown dot pattern. It's really pretty but I can't find a picture of it anywhere I pulled out a suitcase to start putting some things in. So far I only have pop tarts in it! I need to get out the fanny packs and ponchos.
I am very excited that we have less than two weeks left before we leave on our trip!! Yippie! I have started packing a bit, just the things that I don't need for anything else like fanny packs and mister fans. My group also decided to book a hotel near the airport the night before we leave since we have an 8am flight. It's getting me even more excited. It's like vacation starts a day earlier. We sprung for the hotel that is actually AT the airport.
I've requested a runway view. The indoor pool even looks out over the runway! So fun.
Our travel partners got the PIN code for the $500 merchandise card for $395, I don't know yet if they are going to do it. I didn't get a code. I'm not sure if I would have taken advantage anyway. Only 13 days to go!
We leave on our trip tomorrow! I'm so excited. I just have a few more things to pack including my shoes. I hope I don't forget those! We're leaving right after dinner tonight to stay at the hotel at the airport. The kids are even excited about that especially since they have a pool there. My travel partners decided not to take advantage of the $500 merchandise credit offer. Our friends offered it up to use but after thinking about it, it would have been so much more than we normally would spend so we decided against it also. I checked into our hotels last week and checked into SW this morning. Not much left to do! Disney here we come!
We're back! We had a wonderful time. It is so hard to be home though. We got home yesterday and the kids had there 1st day of school today! I took notes for a brief trip report and some notes and pics for a dining review. After the laundry is done and the house is back in order I will start posting.
Some quick little thoughts:
August wasn't as hot as I had thought it might be. We had rain every day, usually around 5:00 and it stuck around for a while each night, not like the quick 2pm showers I'm used to in Florida. The parks weren't too crowded but DTD on a Saturday night was a mob scene!
