Although we have been to the Fort many times this is my first attempt at a trip report...it will be a "newbie" report!

We, me - Maureen and DH - Wayne, are taking our first ever trip to WDW in the month of March as we usually always go in October. The picture that I am attempting to post (like I said in title this is practice) is from October 2014. We were staying in the 200 loop and the horse-drawn carriage came by. There were no guests in the carriage and I assume they were just exercising the horse. Our trip this past October was the best we ever had at the Fort.

Nice. And boy, does GF look huge from the water with the DVC done. We were last there 2 years ago for dinner at Narcoossee and the DVC addition wasn't done yet.

According to my Disney Destinations counter in my email we have only 46 days to go til arrival. :cool1: I'm hoping I will be able to get some pool time. When we go in October the weather is still very warm and I do my "sun-bathe by the pool til I can't take the heat, jump in the pool to cool off, and repeat". Never been there in March so not sure how warm it will get.

Here's a picture from our October 2011 trip. This is my daughter and granddaughter who flew from Maryland to stay with us at the Fort for a few days. What a great time we had!

We briefly had the Castle all to ourselves for this picture!

practice pics are looking great. You seem to be getting the hang of it pretty well. We always enjoy a good trip report, I try to post as many pics as possible. The only problem I had was the cable modem service was pretty slow at times and made uploading pics really slow. What I found would work best is to start an upload of pics to Photobucket or whatever you use the night before, or when you were going to go walking, or looping, or something like that. When you came back they were done. It was faster using my Disboards app on my phone, but the dumb thing (the app, not the phone) quit working while I was there. So I was forced to use the modem.

Either way, I'm looking forward to keeping up with you.

Teamubr - I like that picture of the GF too. Thanks.

ruthies12 - Thanks. I will do my best.

tiggerdad - Thank you for the suggestions.

Just wondering why Disney wants me to order new wristbands. We were just there in October and I was told the wristbands were good for two years. I was planning on just bringing them with me. :confused3

Love the pictures! We are going down for our first trip to Fort Wilderness the first week in February. I could not get the Saturday nights at first and had to pick them up later. Ended up with 3 linked reservations and six magic bands so far, Disney works in mysterious ways!

FWC, Congrats on posting pictures.

One thing I learned long ago when doing trip reports -

.People.

.Love.

.Pictures.

:woohoo:

I can write many paragraphs of "we went here, we went there, next it was someplace else" but even I don't always read through a wall of text. They want to see a favorite vacation place that reminds them of past relaxing trips. I myself am an armchair traveler when reading other folks' trip reports.

Ok so I want to know what kind of rv/trailer you will be using in March, what type of site you reserved or requested loop and why, and your drive (the route, how far, etc.) Don't need all these at once. You can release the info in drips.

That's me. Helps keep me sane between trips.

And what Ed said. Details... Give us details... And feel free to drag it out over several days.

Good looking pics FWC, I will be attempting my first trip report in Feb. Both Tiggerdad and Bama Ed have gave great advice. I hope yall have safe travels and a great trip, we will be looking forward to following along on your trip report.

goofysure - "Disney works in mysterious ways!" lol...

bama_ed & others have asked for more detail, so here goes:

We will be traveling from Delaware via Rt. 113 to U.S. 13 South and cross the Chesapeake Bay Bridge/Tunnel into Virginia Beach. From there DH maneuvers his way onto I-95.

We usually take our time going down making one or two overnight stops.
For us its approximately 900 miles to Ft. Wilderness.

We have stayed at all the different type sites, full hookup, preferred and premium. Never been disappointed by any of the sites we've had. One year (2011) when had site 901 the whole 800 loop was empty. I love walking my dog around the Fort but this year especially. Not only did we have that whole dog walk area behind 800 loop but the whole loop itself. Many mornings we encountered deer wondering around the 800 loop.

Will provide more details later!
