Since I will do anything to avoid packing I thought I would give you all a little "behind the magic" look into our trip planning process. We are staying at the Poly for the first time!!
Cast of characters -The Circle of Trust:Names to be determined by behavior on trip...
Me- been to Disney dozens of times, obsessive planner, type A(hey who isn't on here
)WEARING NEW SHOES TO DISNEY!, lives by the pack light motto in my head- in reality will probably take everything that isn't nailed down-except the dog. Oh and fingers crossed that Johnny Depp will make a surprise appearance to ride POC on July7th with me!
But I'll settle for DH in a pirate hat
DH-only really discover disney after he met me, along for the drive and holding a baby, GIVE HIM A BEER AND HE'S GOOD- hence how I intend to get him to wear said Pirate Hat.
DS(12)- sun shines on him, life is good to him yet....tween in every sense of the word, LONG HAIR(hey how is that humidity feeling bud)PSP player,VMKer,Loves everything EPCOT, favorite ride MS. Beastie boys should be playing "Hey Ladies" behind him at all times as he has recently discovered that girls are cool.
DD(8)-too excited to sleep-
yeah right. SLEEPING BEAUTY, stays in bed to avoid her brothers at all costs, pretends to be too cool for princesses but I know better
DS(3)-Mr Nascar, loves Monster Trucks, hmmm I guess the redneck of the family. (unfortunatly we live in the northeast and he's half Puerto Rican so not too many rednecks in his inner circle) hated characters last year but is DETERMINED TO MEET MATER AND JOJO.(wonder how that will turn out)
DS(1)-Chunky monkey hey he's just happy to get out... will eat anything and everything including the non-edible (like my mom's cooking light recipes) good baby EASY GOING.......
Oh and dog(12) old drooling engish bulldog, sweet 80 pound bundle of slobbering love..he stays home this trip and he is not happy about that. at least I don't think he is happy- I am type A not crazy I don't think my dog is talking to me....at least not yet. But if he did I suppose I might understand him because he is an English Bulldog and not a French bulldog.
Now as you can see I can ramble on which I know will continue into the trip report so if you can't stand that style jump ship now.
A little more on DH's first trip to Disney. DH grew up in the Bronx- where his mother decided to take him and his siblings and his cousins to Disney...on a bus. If you thing that ME is bad imagine a bus trip from NY to FL with 5 kids under the age of 6!! DH was the baby on that trip and apparantly the PITA. My MIL tells a tale of taking a cab to Maimi from Orlando just to get little DH some rice and beans. (oh and it was uphill and snowing when she took that trip)She is also the reason that we do not travel with the dog. You see several year ago my Inlaws + grandma + 2 dogs were moving down to FL. My brother in law offered to drive them down. They stopped for the night at a roadside pet friendly hotel. Well no sooner do they get into the room than the dogs start *marking the room* Grandma was already in bed and couldn't get out of bed because the blanket was too heavy...it was soaked with dog pee. So NO DOGS ALLOWED on our trips!
Now you have been warned. We leave Friday at 4AM let's see how that goes. Oh and we are driving!
it will be nothing like that picture... we need a minivan smiley stuffed to the brim with kids and luggage. First rule of Type A personality is that everything can not possibly go according to plan so plan accordingly. Last year I packed fantastically, used ziplocs, divided socks, color coded bags..... yeah but I forgot to pack my underwear! so I had to spend a week in Disney wearing Tink Underwear on my Dumbo butt. (that underwear is awful by the way and won't be coming on this trip)
So let's see....left to do.... Go buy real underwear for me, load up on sugary snacks for the kids, chocolate for DH and diet cokes for me, really finish packing, get dog to kennel(not nearly as fun for him as the kennel he used to go to - it got raided for shooting pornos upstairs from the kennel- no wonder he loved that place) figure out how to download all the photos that are in the camera so we can take it nice and empty.. Well that just about does it. You have now had a brief look into the circle of trust, if you stick with me you will find out more than you probably care to know-
I am sure the car ride alone will provide me with plenty to write about. I'll be back in a week and a half...see you soon..........
