A little disney history for us..............
I hadn't been to Disney since 1998 when I visited with my grandparents. I always had the desire to go back but never the time. Finally for my September honeymoon my DH and I decided to go back. Brad, my dh, had been many more times than I and was very much in love with Disney. We booked our trip from September 15-23 of 2001. After 9/11 we were not sure if our plane was going to take off at all since we had connecting flights in Dulles airport. We were prepared to make the drive but fortunately our flight took off on time and without a hitch. We stayed at POR and I loved it!!! POR to me, was just as good as a deluxe resort. We got to try lots of new restaurants including the California Grill which has become a tradition every trip. This was also the first time I had been to Downtown Disney!! How exciting!!
Our NEXT trip, December of '01............
I decided to take my brother to Disney for he had never been. DH was going to meet us midweek for two days. This time we got a really good deal on the Yacht Club and Boardwalk. We split the time since I really wanted to stay in both resorts. My brother loved the parks but was taken back at how kid oriented some of it was. (He is 15) Anyway, he learned to enjoy it!!! DH loved the resorts and enjoyed his two days in Disney!!!!
February of 2002 trip!!!! A spontaneous trip!!!
DH is a physician and doesn't get a lot of time off. Finally his February vacation had come along and we were planning to go home and look for a new house. We ended up not going back come to Cinci and ended up being couped up in our apartment with nothing to do. So....I called up and made reservations at Disney to surprise my DH. Since it was such short notice I chose the ASMuR!! We had to drive since we were leaving the night and last minute plane tickets were way too much. So...We stopped an McDonalds as well as the grocery and were on our way. We had planned on driving straight through but decided to stop in Georgia for a couple hours of sleep. 9 hrs later, we were in Disney!!!! The week went by fast and I enjoyed the AStar Environment more than I ever thought I could!!
