Our extended families are going with us to WDW in May. Some family members have never been there. I want to have a pre-trip party for everyone. We are ages 4 to 70. I am looking for some ideas. I am thinking we will play games with Disney themed prizes. We will have alot of "cheese" food--cheesecake, cheeseball and crackers, cheese popcorn, cheese pizza... I know there are alot of creative minds out there. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!

I would shoot to add more for mouse shaped stuff. Such as:

You can make the cheeseball one big ball with 2 small balls on top held on with bamboo skewers for support to make a mickey head. Press flax seed or another dark seed/nut to make it look black.

Take a styrofoam dinner plate, hot glue 2 dessert plates to make ears, and use them for holding chips, pretzels, etc.

Buy Mickey napkins.

Red and black streamer.

Rent a mickey head cookie pan from a cake store and make rice krispie mickey heads. They would likely have a mickey head cookie cutter, OR

Buy regular oreos and mini bite size oreos, stick them together with royal icing - mickey cookies. Or coat them in melted chocolate to hold them together - messy tho

Buy mickey cupcake liners and make cuppie cakes! Michael's has lots of cupcake toppers too.

Have fun!

I saw another post where a lady made a special Mickey dinner to celebrate their trip. One of the things she did was buy refrigerated bread stick dough and rolled it up (cinnamon roll style) and then did the same with two smaller sections to make Mickey bread and baked it like that. It was cute!

we printed off coloring pages for the kids
disney trivia
voted for everyone's disney names
had a Mickeky cake

this time we are making our countdown chains
making t-shirts
decorating a journal's for each family to record memories in while on the trip

Thanks to all for your great suggestions! I can't wait to surprise everyone!

Oh this is so much fun! We did one for our last trip, and will be planning one for our Oct 2009 trip. Our first one SIL & I pretended we were the cruise/trip directors and I had itineraries printed up, tips for the trip on where to eat and how to save some $$, and weather reports. We had finger foods/appetizer snacks. The adults didn't play games, but the kids played Disney Scene It, and we didn't do prizes, but I may take that into consideration for the next trip!

Have fun!!!
