Hello fellow DISer's! I have decided to start a pre-trip report in preparation for our 7 day Eastern cruise in December. Here is some background:
DIS-cruisers:
DH : Disney fan by marriage! We went on our honeymoon 10 years ago and 4 visits later, he loves it! I do, however, get the comment on occasion, "Aren't we ever going to go anywhere else on vacation?" Duh?!?!? Is there anywhere else? It was actually DH's idea that we go on our first cruise for our anniversary! Yeah hubby!!
DW tidoublegger: Loves all things Disney! Goes into obsessive Disney vacation planning mode then it wears off for a while, then voila, back into planning mode, then before you know it, another trip is booked!
DD 8 years old: Her mothers daughter!! {insert evil laugh!} I've made her a Disney fan too! But dad, Disney would be a much better vacation than anywhere else!! I've got her trained well!
Some background:
Our 10 year anniversary trip was booked way back in July of 2006. We paid our $250/person deposit and let the euphoria kick in!
I decided to be a good doobie and write a check every month to the travel agency so we wouldn't be charging the trip. I bought the Passporters Guide to Disney Cruises and read it cover to cover within the first few days. Yahoo! But then worry was creeping in...how could we be so close to WDW and not go to a park? Would the cruise be magical? Oh no...what did we do?
Deep breath...go to the cruise boards...they'll reassure me. Ahhhhhh, DCL picture of the day....ok, all better.
Fast forward:
Airfare booked through Jetblue...hotel at CS&I, everything falling into place at good prices. It's now July 2007. The trip is paid off. Time to relax...wait...hurricane season??? Maybe I should buy trip insurance.
Done...$152 later we are insured. I missed booking Palo online because I was working the overnight shift. Bummer. I kept trying everyday, but nothing. Oh well. I did however, book a St. John's excursion and Exotic Rasul
(ssshhhhh!) Maybe we can get Palo on board. Nothing to do now but wait....or so I thought.
To be continued.....
