Pre-trip depression?

My friend in Seattle that I used to travel with was like that. Or we would get there and she would start counting from the first night how soon we had to go home. I kept telling her to stop and try to enjoy the trip because being depressed about it ending is no way to spend your vacation!

Hehe. The other night I had a honeymoon nightmare. Now, I had one or two wedding nightmares (i.e - show up at the church without your dress, etc), but I never thought I would have a honeymoon nightmare.
I dreamt we checked into the yacht club, and were given a room with no windows, no balcony (obviously) and a rollaway murphey bed. Now I'm paranoid about our room!

What a great thread!! I didn't realize I go through the same thing as well!

2 weeks ago I told my husband I was getting sad because it was almost too close and would be over soon. My DEAR DEAR husband said, just start planning for next Spring 2 days after we get home so you can be happy about planning and have a reason to look forward to coming home :flower:

I tell you I married very well :)

Funny how I didn't know I was depressed but really was. I also get depressed the last couple of days knowing it's almost over.

But thanks to all of you, I am going to relax and enjoy and not dread!! You guys are the best...(planning the trip next Spring doesn't hurt either :rotfl2: )

very scary as I just mentioned this to my parents(I planned a grand gathering) for the past year I've planned and now our depature (9/27) is just around the corner. What will I do? my wife will be glad that no more daily disney updates... I guess I'll just work on the kids to bug mom about going back!!!!

Wow, I never would've thought so many of us are alike...

I started feeling this way after I started planning my 2nd trip. I had no idea how much fun I would have or how fast time goes by at WDW. Then I started feeling it a month before or 2nd trip. kept telling DH amonth from now, it'll be all over. He just gave me a look like I was crazy.....

I hate feeling like this, why can't time just draaaaaag by at Disney?

And then when you're back, you gotta deal with he Disney blues. I never look forward to those. They seem to take so long to go away, they never do actually. Some days are just harder than others.

the reason we feel this way is because we are sick of the real world and love the fantasy world where everyone gets along and we can be who we want and no one makes fun of us. at least this is the way i feel, it gives me the only good part of my child hood that i care to remember. :flower:

YES! Glad I'm not just weird. I don't worry about what happens on the trip but I just love the anticipation of going & figuring out a general guideline for each day. We originally planned to go in Nov. & I keep thinking - if we didn't move our trip up, I'd have another month to look forward to it! By the time we get there, it flies by so fast then it's over & back to reality.

Plus we aren't planning to go again until DS is 8 - he's 3 now. I'll probably throw myself into the beginning of holiday prep/shop when we get back so I don't stop event planning cold turkey!

I too can be counted in the crowd. It set in shortly after I made our ADR's last week. I got a little jolt of excitement last night when I saw the EMH's for November were out, but really it's just that lull period. There is some anxiety still about park hours. We all are just praying that our plans are good enough, that the economy doesn't totally tank, and that we will actually be able to go. I will snap out of it when the December hours come out....for about a week. Then it's just waiting to get about 3 weeks out, when the heavy household cleaning and packing begins. This too shall pass. Maggie

Oooh me too me too my bf thinks I"m insane...
In fact we were just there sept 3-10 and on sept 4 I got very depressed saying "It's almost over!" He looked at me like I'd lost it.. I think I ruined my trip every day dreading we were closer to leaving.. and forget it.. now that I'm home and no trip planned for anytime soon (on a limited income that was my first trip in 5 years and likely won't be back for another 3:( ).. I CRY reading some of these threads .. I"m a loon. :confused3

I was very depressed we didnt go this year,we usually go 2-3 times a year, hubby actually said we were not going at all this year, we just bought our first home and things were tight, but he told me in august to start planning our trip for Christmas and to make it one that we will never forget he is what I call a closet disney fan, wont admit it but loves it as much as I do....Know I am just paniking about making my reservations and have lots of anxiety, but when I do I just listen to 365 live and listen to the music there and it calms me down!!!!!!
