If we are going straight to the parks before picking up our pass at resort, will we have to pay for parking at the parks? Or will this be reimbursed?

I would say you would have to pay for parking. There would be no way for them to know that you are actually staying on property. As for getting reimbursed, I have no idea. You might just want to stop by your resort, check in, and pick up your parking pass.

I have never driven my car to the parks but do drive down and stay in the resorts. I have never been given or offered a parking pass for the parks so I'm guessing it's tied to your magic band. If you have tied your room ressie to your MB on MDE, I'm guessing they scan your band and know you have free parking but that is just a guess. I did once accidently end of in the Epcot parking lot and was just flagged into a parking space so I'm not even sure how you pay for parking.

If you have pre-registered online with your resort thru MDE, your MagicBand should work for parking at the parks. However, if the parking attendant still wants a fee, pay it and get a receipt. When you arrive at your resort later in the day, stop in the check-in area and you will be reimbursed. Maybe it will be a CC credit, maybe a hotel bill credit, maybe cash. Probably depends on how you paid, etc.

If you have the Disney Booklet with your reservation I would think they would let you in without paying.

I prefer to park at the resort and use the transportation. What is your main reason for going to the parks first?

There could be losts of reasons to go straight to the park, one to start having fun straightaway. But Checkin is technically at 3pm, so if you get in early why not goto the park. Again, if your magic band is tied to your room reservation you can park for free.

You do not have to wait until 3 to check in, you can check in any time after 7 am. Your room might not be ready, you can either keep your bags in your car or store them with bell services and have them sent to your room after you get there. I do split stays a lot and check out of one resort early in the morning and drive to the second resort and check in then hop disney transportation or walk to Epcot if staying at an Epcot resort and go about my day. They will text me when my room is ready and when I'm ready to go back which is not always when they text me but later if I've left my bag in my car I go get it and go to my room or if I've left it with bell services, I go to my room and call them and let them know they can bring the bag up.
