Hi :) I have a few questions about the Pre-Reception..

1. How much does the Pre-Reception cost?? We are having our reception @ Ariels and the Pre-Reception is at Marthas Vinyard Lounge..

2. Also, what is served at a pre-reception??

Thanks :)

We actually just moved some of the items from our brunch buffet to the pre-reception, so we didn't have any additional cost :thumbsup2 In our case it was the cheese and pastry displays.

Generally, speaking it is usually small appetizers that are served.

We did it too! There was soooooooo much food on our buffet, it would have been silly to buy even more food for the pre-reception.

However, if you do need to pay for pre-reception food, the price depends on the menu or individual items you slesct. Your WP will send you menus. You can serve whatever you want - appetizers, cheese tray, veggies, fruit....

First, I would talk to your planner. Our reception was at Ariel's in August. When we met for a site visit (and in all initial info) our pre-reception was at Martha's Vineyard. However, when we got our contract we learned it would be in the lower level of Ariel's. While it wasn't a big deal (and turned out nicely), it wasn't what we were told originally. So make sure that if you want Martha's Vineyard that you make sure that is what you are getting. It may have been that we had too many people for the space (still under 45), but we had a larger number when planning and told we had it.
Second, we had the premium cheese display and fruit & dip for about $750. It seems like a lot, but it was well worth it for our 11am start pre-reception. Most of our guests had skipped breakfast (including hubby and I), and everyone enjoyed the snacking until lunch (which wasn't until about 1 or so I think?). There was no additional fee for the pre-reception location because it was the same room (different area).
Hopefully that helps a little. If you have ANY questions, or want to see some pictures, let me know!

As Briarprincess said, check with your planner. We received a ton of menus at the outset. Since we're having a plated dinner, we wanted the pre-reception to be more substantial to encourage mingling and chatting. We've opted for the premium cheese display and a combo of 5 different hors d'œuvre (for roughly 50$ per person). We're getting married on the Whitehall patio and the dinner is in the Whitehall room, so the hors d'œuvre will be set up outside with the open bar and will run for 90 minutes.

Like other brides have mentioned/alluded to, the combinations, I suspect, are virtually endless!

We're having 3 different hors d'œuvres, plus a fruit display. It's costing us $37 per person for that.

Disney has a huge list of hors d'œuvres you can pick from. Remember to request to taste some if you're doing a PS.

I am having my Pre-Reception at the Whitehall Room at the GF, my reception is on the patio. We opted for the antipasto spread and it's $13.50 per person. We have 31 people so $418.50 before tax and the ridiculous 21% gratuity
