"Just inquired about prepaid parking for Port Canaveral Terminal Parking with the Port Authority and was advised that they had just stopped that service today. Those parking at the Terminal now must pay when they arrive.

This was the message I received: "We no longer offer that service as of a couple of hours ago. Sorry, you can pay the day you arrive"

I received the following email today ( I HAD pre-paid for my parking ):

As a result of equipment upgrades, we no longer are able to process pre-paid parking reservations at Port Canaveral.
Your funds have been reimbursed and will appear on your credit card statement within 5 to 7 business days. Please pay for parking when you are at the Port at your terminal. There is plenty of parking at each cruise terminal.

Hmmm.... sounds like they caught onto the "pre-pay for first leg of your 3/4 night B2B and only pay for 3 nights" deal. Unless you pay when you enter and only have to return the parking ticket at the end, with no one (or no computer) to say "oops, you owe XXX more."

They would have changed their process. As it was you drive up and pay for the length of time the current cruise is in port and they give you the little receipt thing. Then you go park. At the end of your cruise, you load up your car and drive away. I seem to remember this was done to eliminate the long line of cars all trying to pay and leave at the same time. Where is with arrivals it is more staggered as people have different Port Arrival Times.

Granted they could have changed it back where you grab a ticket and now pay on your way out. But how much money do you really think they were losing to B2B cruisers?

I have no idea how much, if any, the parking people may have "lost" to B2B cruisers. I was just commenting on one of the "loopholes" that some people have posted about here.

They did change their process. Time was you got a ticket when parking, and paid when you left. For whatever reasons, that was changed to pre-pay option. Now pre-pay is no longer an option. Don't know if you just pay for the length of the cruise departing that day now, or if they've gone back to getting a ticket and being changed upon departure for actual time/days parked.

I know in San Pedro, you pay when you leave (you pay for actual days parked) - that generates more money than paying for first leg of a B2B (or B2B2Bs) and departing after second leg with no additional charge.

Thanks for the heads up. We usually prepay and would have done so this trip.

I think they mean paying online prior to arriving at Port Canaveral is no longer available.

Spoke with the Port Authority directly: If you have already prepaid your cruise parking for your cruise through Dec. 31, 2017, your
prepay receipt will be accepted at the garage so don't worry.

They are not accepting any NEW prepaid now whether you are cruising prior to Dec. 31 or after!

Bon voyage.

Working in IT its always hilarious to me when people lose technology they previously had due to "upgrades". Thats not what we call it...

I think you repeated the same thing back to me as i mentioned that it used to be get a ticket, pay when you leave. When I sailed Port Canaveral in May, it was as described. You could pay online in advance or pay when you arrive at the port. We did a Back to Back on the Fantasy. We only paid for parking for the first cruise. The lingering question is, how is payment of parking being handled at the port now. Pay when you arrive or when you leave.

We got off the Fantasy 5 days ago. When we arrived at the port, we did not show our cruise booklet to a person (as we did in past cruises), instead we pulled up to an unmanned kiosk, it had the total already entered (rate for 7 nights), we inserted a cc, got receipt and the gate opened. When our cruise was over, we drove off, no ticket check or payment required.
