I have reservations at BOG for breakfast and lunch. I usually place my order ahead of time online to skip the line at the restaurant. This trip we are traveling with other families and the reservations for BOG are for 8 people. How will the pre-ordering work? Can I order for my family in my MDE and my sister order for her family in her MDE? We are both using the dining plan, so I want the credits to come from the correct account. I am worried that they will all be charged to my account since the reservation is in my name. The only reason I say this is because it says when you go to place the order that checks will not be split if ordering online. I am hoping that is just the case if I, for example, would place the order in my MDE for the entire party. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Hmm. If the reservation is all together you'll only have the option to place one order. Not sure how they handle splitting up the bill for dining credits. I would think they could do this, but if not and you are dining with them at other QS meals could you just charge the entire amount to one account and then at the next meal get paid back by using the credits from another account?

The strange thing is when I log into my sister's MDE account it gives her the option to place an order just like in my account.

When BOG first opened we had an ADR for 9 ppl. under my MDE account (you'll only be able to do the preordering under a MDE account that has a BOG ADR for that time). Here's the issue...you can preorder, however they cannot do separate bills once you get there, so if you order for all the families, only 1 person will be able to pay or use their credits from their room. Unless someone is picking up the tab, you should not preorder everyone's food. You could preorder your own, but then the other families will have to order their own once they get there. It's a pain when you're using the dining plan and have a reservation for more than 1 room.

When I went I made the reservation for everyone in my name even though we had separate dining plans it all came off mine. My sister in law just purchased our next meal using her credits so we were back even. They said there was no way to separate it. That was a year ago though. Maybe something has changed.

Ugh!!! I was really hoping to make this simple!

I didn't know that's how it would be until we got there and I had a moment of panic lol. Luckily we were eating all our meals together so it wasn't a big deal. If you don't preorder you should be fine....but I know that slows down the process!

I didn't even think of it either until I went to preorder and it said checks couldn't be split. Next time I will know to book reservations separately. I may call today too to see if there are any ways around this.

When I did our pre-order this week there was a note on the website saying that they will not be able to split checks if we pre-order. I suppose they may have had some complaints when people arrived and found out it all had to be on one check.

that notation has been there for awhile; would be nice if it was noted when you make your ADRs

So I called and live chatted with Disney today about this. Both cast members told me it shouldn't be a problem if both parties used their dining plan credits. They said it is an issue if paying with cash or credit card. I still don't know if I believe them based on some of the experiences posted. I sent an email as well, I am interested to see what a third cast member says!

That is incorrect. From what I've read here, it's the ones paying OOP who don't have a problem. The dining credits WILL all come from one account if you preorder.

That is exactly what I was thinking too. I don't trust the answers Disney is giving me on this topic.

One of you could make the lunch reservations and the other the breakfast? Then your credits would even out between you both. :)

True, but we are all not ordering. My youngest, for example, is really picky, so I was just going to order her some fries at lunch (I know not nutritional, but it's vacation). For breakfast, my husband may be the only one from my family eating the full meal (the rest of us will eat pastries...we aren't big breakfast eaters). We may just have to wait in the line...it really isn't that long.

by the time I realized that my sisters family and I could not pay separately it was 30 days out and we ended up cancelling the breakfast ADR because it was no longer a PPO. was not that big of a deal, I used my credits for BOG and my sister used hers at another meal.
