Pre-opening ADRs or breakfast bordering on lunch?

We are planning a trip to wdw next year and are thinking of the following ADRs

CRT
Chef Mickey's
Akershus
Hollywood and Vine

Unfortunately we will do CM on our arrival day (probably at dinner). Hopefully it won't be too awful.

For the others, breakfast is much cheaper than lunch. I was thinking of trying for pre-opening ADRs so we can try to be in the park early. But, particularly for CRT, I'm worried they will take over an hour and we will lose the advantage of timing. Someone suggested we try for the last breakfast reservation as then we can also sample some of the lunch fare. However, for all of them, this means a 10 am reservation, which means we will be eating during a quieter time in the park. I've also heard bad things about the lunches, so I'm worried about going for lunch and having horrible food.

Would you just do the pre-opening thing or 10 am? I'm so confused about what to do!!

Thanks!!

I don't like the idea of having to rush an expensive meal to meet "rope drop" personally.

We have always done Chef Mickeys at 7am which gives you plenty of time to get to MK for the Opening Ceremony - could you not do that on your first day?

That said, when we go in December we are thinking of doing the late breakfast / brunch option instead.

Wh have never seemed rushed at the breakfast when we do pre park adr

Well I can't say that when we did tusker house there was a bit of an issue getting everyone seated right away heck because of construction they didn't even let us I the park till 815 for 8am adrs

Also, the late breakfast seating at CRT you won't get to sample lunch fare. Nature of service at CRT is you will get the menu of the meal you're reserved for.

Will we realistically be out if CRT in an hour? I don't want to rush the experience.

We prefer a later breakfast over pre-park. Except for me, none of my family are early risers, I'm happy if I can get everybody to the park entrance by rope drop haha

Late breakfast. That way we can sleep in if we want, or hit the ground running and get a lot of rides under our belt before we eat.

We are at CRT in Aug 2014. We had an 8:05 res and we were the 3rd family sat. We lucked out and we were the first table the princesses all stopped at, and DS wasn't too big into interacting much beyond a hug and a quick photo. We knew what we wanted and ordered ASAP. we were out by 8:50 and we were held at the internal rope. So yes, it's feasible to be done in less than an hour. We're fast eaters and had planned well ahead of time.

Not sure if things have changed, but we did an 11am breakfast at Royal Akerhaus last December and it was great since it really worked as our lunch.
