After enjoying SOAT (thanks for the acronym DisneyBishops- WDW is like the military, everything has an acronym), we headed out to the Food and Wine Festival.
As we were entering Epcot, so were tons of other people. It was packed on this lovely Fall evening. The weather was perfect, maybe upper 60's, and breezy.
We began at Mexico, and started our way around. There are 27 International Marketplace stations this year, all of which are selling food, beer and wine. And, there were long lines at all of them!
It was in Mexico that we ran into our first drunken Vikings. But, they would be far from our last.
There were lots of boisterous groups enjoying the Food and Wine Festival. The people watching was great.
We got some of the Pork Potstickers from China, and some Beef Tenderloin with Sweet Potato Puree' and Mango Barbecue sauce in South Africa, and grabbed a table to enjoy our treats right before entering Germany. Here we are:
From here, the girls were interested in some items from Italy and also some sushi from Japan. I had to get something from Germany. There is one item there that is my absolute favorite: the Nuernberger sausage on a pretzel roll. So, I stood in line at Germany, with the understanding that I would meet the girls in Japan.
As I was standing in the Germany line, cheers erupted in the crowds. The Gators had just kicked a last second field goal to win over Arkansas! I was wearing a Gator shirt, so there were lots of fist bumps and high fives for me.
I got my sausage, and an order of Spaetzle as well, and went on to join the girls. Here I am with my Nuernberger sausage :
As we enjoyed our second round of treats, the crowds got bigger and bigger. Jon Secada was going to perform a concert at 7:45, and of course, folks were already staking out places for Illuminations.
We continued around the lake, and made a stop at the UK pavilion before deciding that we had had enough of the crowds.
We headed back to the Fort.
It was actually cold out! When we arrived on Thursday it was 94, and now it was about 30 degrees colder. Got to love Florida this time of year!
The girls bundled up:
And we headed out to see the Halloween decorations at night. We ran into these folks with a great illuminated golf cart:
And saw some more decorations:
Here is a site that was decorated with a pirate theme:
We enjoyed our first hot cocoa of the season, and looped long into the night.
And then, our last magical evening at the Fort came to an end. We turned in early- before midnight.
Next up, a cold morning at the Fort!
