Hi all!

I just booked ID NOW testing at one of the Walgreens testing site in Orlando for our family of four.
I was going over the re-entry requirements and looks like only 5 and up is required to get the testing done to re-enter.
I have a 4 year old son and he doesn't need one, correct?

Now I am debating whether or not we should still get the testing done for my 4 year old DD.

If he tests positive, it will be so complicated to arrange the way to come back to Canada/quarantine and all.
If he does NOT get the test at all, I am worried that the rule will change sometime between now and when we return (I am leaving tomorrow for a week trip) and the border agent requires the test result.

What would you do if you were me?

Thanks in advance for your insight!!

Nope, a 4 year old does not need to test to come back to Canada.

We tested our 4 year old 3 days in on a self-test because it is a requirement that you attest to but not for coming home. I would self test the 4 year old a few days after you come home and then at the 7 day mark. That is what we did for all of us last week when we came home.

Hm...if it were me, I'd get him tested anyway. What harm can it do?
But for you I would advise making your decision based on how your 4 year old would cope with the test. If you think he will cry and have a tantrum during the process, then I'd say it's probably easier to trust the fact that they have said only 5+ need a test, because after all, this is unlikely to change. (And as far as I'm aware, even if it was to change during your week away, if you left before this change was made then you should be fine. But don't hold me to that!)
But if you think your son will be ok going through the test without too much stress or discomfort, then I'd suggest playing on the side of caution and getting him tested anyway, more to put your mind at ease than anything else. Better safe than sorry :earboy2:

I think my 4 year old would give very hard time with the testing so I’m thinking not to take the test.
Thank you!!

I have a 4 year old and I absolutely would not get him tested unless it was required. He's already had to do so many tests because of exposure, I wouldn't want to add another one in.

I personally doubt they'll change the rules for the the under 5 group.
