Pre Disney Cruise hotel

Can anyone recommend a good affordable option. And should we stay in Orlando or drive down to Port canaveral the night before our cruise. We will have our own car.

When we did this we found the hotels in Orlando much more reasonable. We stayed at a Hampton Inn and for fun booked dinner at the Poly and then watched the fireworks from the beach (before bungalows). Was a great way to kick off our cruise. It was a short drive to the port in the morning.
