Pre cruise lodging help

Hi!
We are going on our first Disney Cruise in February out of Miami, and I am having a trrrible time finding lodging for 1 night for our party of 10 the night before we leave. I would love rooms that are clean and affordable and it seems as though many are already booked up. This was sort of a last minute vacation for us so I suppose hotels are getting full, especially ones that will accommodate 5 per room. Any suggestions?

We stayed at the Hyatt Place Airport East when we cruised out of Miami. Very clean and modern and affordable. Uber XL was $25 to the port.

You might need to get 3 rooms. Not many hotels allow more than 4/room unless a multi-room suite.

If you're driving down the east coast (like us), we stay in Port Orange (an hour from the port) and get a suite at Country Inn & Suites for a very reasonable price for us (family of 5). We've also stayed at the CI&S at Port Canaveral, but I like the Port Orange better as there's decent restaurants within walking distance, a Target & CVS across the road for the last minute "omigosh-I-forgot-to-bring" purchase as well as a Starbucks that's easy to get to. We've stayed there 7 times and it's great.

edit: sorry, didn't see that you were cruising out of Miami. The drive from Port Orange to the Miami terminial (our first cruise) was about 4 hours. We're coming from VA, so didn't want to drive further our first day.

Depending on when your cruise is in February, there is a food/wine festival taking place in town (Feb. 20-24) which may be contributing to the lack of rooms. https://sobewff.org/ We are also cruising out in February and booked at the Hyatt Place by the airport. You might have more luck finding rooms near there if you haven't looked already.

You may have better luck finding hotels in the Ft Lauderdale area. It's not that far out of Miami.

When we fly we stay in airport hotels. With a group your size get private van transport to the port. The hotel will be able to help you, or you can book in advance with a little research. When we drive we stay in Fort Pierce, which is about 2 hours north of Miami. We book on Hotwire or Priceline since we can control the star-quality and aren't picky about the actual hotel.

If you are looking in this time frame, just be aware that virtually the entire northeast is on break for all of Presidents' Week (at least the northeast...I don't know about other areas), and many people have had trips planned at least a year out. So that's going to impact availability as well. Plus some places may have minimum night stay restrictions in place so one night won't show up as available.

The Doubletree Grand Biscayne Bay offers some condo units, so depending on availability you could potentially do some combination of condo and regular hotel rooms. My in-laws were upgraded to a 2 bedroom condo there in April. It was huge. I don't think, though, that it could sleep 10.

Due to unavailability at my first couple choices I booked La Quinta Miami Airport East. Basic hotel with free airport shuttle and free shuttle to the port. I have high hopes for it because the price is right and with free breakfast and shuttles, it appeals to my frugal side.
