We fancy lunch at MGM's Sci Fi Drive In Theatre. Haven't eaten there for nearly 10 years, and just wondered whether we could book at guest relations on the day, or whether we would need to book in advance before we go?
Any suggestions. :stir:

It is a good idea to book in advance. It is not a true reservation, but they out you on the next aviable table after the time you have booked, so it is like a reservation.

You can call on 001 407 WDW DINE

When are you going? Last August we were able to book lunch on the day we wanted to eat on two occassions. The first time we could more or less choose our time but by the second visit the free dining had come into effect and the restaurant was very busy - we still got a table for half an hour later than we would have preferred.

If it's really important to you book before you go - if you're flexible you'll probably get a table on the day.

We're going mid July. Not really bothered about phoning from the UK. Could ring when we get there.
Has anyone any ideas for any other quirky places to eat??

Last time we visited Sci-Fi in July they were giving out return times of 9.30pm to people without ADRs, that was as we waited for our table for lunch at 2pm! I would make the reservation as soon as you can or risk being disappointed.

Thanks for that! Will have a think about when we are going to visit and book as soon as I can. :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

If you like "quirky" I would also recommend Moms 50s Prime Time Cafe in MGM :thumbsup2

I just called and made my advance reservations for our trip in September 06 and I am glad that I did. Some of the places were already full with only a few times left. At Le Cellier in Epcot the ONLY time they had left on the day that we needed was at 5:10. So I would absolutely not wait to phone, I would make them now....

Thanks for that, Hanncam! We'll have to get our itinery sorted, then I can book!
