While I sit at the Picabu Buffeteria eating my breakfast and enjoying my coffee, I thought I would share my lessons learned from this trip.

1. ALWAYS WEAR A BELT WHEN TAKING PICTURES IN EPCOT. YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN SOMEONE WILL TRY AND PANTS YOU!!!!

2. Kevin is the man! Gold Bond became the "Nectar of the Gods." I must say though that the Gold Bond lotion in the pump bottle was so much better than the powder. It started to tingle much sooner than the power and I did not feel like a powdered donut after shaking it in, well ummm, down there. I am also sure the cleaning lady appreciated the lack of white dust all over the carpet and tile floors.

3. Eat a good breakfast every morning!! I am normally use to eating a bagel w/cream cheese in the mornings. I would have never made it through the parks this past week without eating a good breakfast. The days I ate just a bagel, I was ready for a nap at 10am.

4. Naps ARE underrated. It was nice to go back to the sub-zero room and nap on my "Heavenly Bed."

5. The Dolphin rocks!!

a. First off, the rates were great for the pre and post podcast cruise.
b. We somehow got a fantastic room with two closets (one was a large walk-in, ladies). Alicia would have had enough room for ALL of her shoes!! (Between Alicia and Christy they had almost 25 pairs of shoes. This men, is just scary. But I did bring 5 pairs myself).'
c. "The Fountain - Eats and Sweets" was great! They had great sandwiches and OMG, the shakes were to die for.
d. I am not a big fan of "Buffeterias", but "Picabu" was great. Open 24 hours and the food was better than most Disney quick services locations. I purchased one of the refillable mugs for unlimited coffee and cokes (from Texas, everything is a Coke, even Pepsi and Sprite). It is more a coffee mug and actually kept my coffee at a good temp for a long time. Picabu also had a mini store with your normal snack foods and personal items.
e. If you need to ship or receive a package, The Dolphin has a Pack and Ship location on the Lobby level in the Convention area. They handle UPS, FED-EX and USPS. We were able to put our FE gifts in some flat rate boxes and send them home. They have their act together in the Pack and Ship area. We were also able to just change the shipping to our room. This was great. The attendant even taped our boxes for us. The Shipping and Receiving office is open 8 to 5, 7 days a week.

I must say that next time we come to the World without my son, we would, without a doubt, consider the Dolphin!

Pete, Corey...I would suggest ya'll put up a Cruise Wiki so that all of us on the boards can add and modify content that can be used by all cruisers and in a format that is easily searchable. That would put us, the cruisers in charge of putting the content we need to see up in a self-policing format, like wikipedia but just for the DIS.

And FYI - Castaway Cay is the perfect place to Propose to your significant other, along with being with 300+ of your fellow Disney Crazies!! Christy is still in shock!

Hope this helps...Feel free to drop you lessons learned here also!!

Congrats on your engagement...

How about you get married at Castaway during PCC 2.0 :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 I think I know a few travel agents who would be willing to help you plan such an event !!

My suggestion (from somebody who has been married for only 12 years) is not to make an issue about overpacking for a cruise.

You'll find that when you return home they will comment about "I never go to wear this" as they unpack. At that point, suggest making a list for the next one so they remember what to take and what not to take. :rolleyes1
