We are planning a trip to DL in Late April and am concerned that parts of the parks will be closed in preparation for the 50 Anniversary celebration. Does anyone have any info relating to this issue?

We are planning a visit early April and so have been keeping watch for announcements. Others have more direct contact with the parks and might be able to tell you more but here is our view on things.

First the bad news - most certain to be closed are

Casey Jr. Circus Trains
Jungle Cruise
Space Mountain
Storybook Land Canal Boats

There is also no major daily parade at DL before the 50th Birthday one starts though there is a smaller “Mickey’s Shining Star Cavalcade” where a number of characters will walk/ride most of the parade route.

A final, possible, disappointment is that the castle is likely to be covered as the final touches are added for the BIG day.

Now the good news:

DCA is unaffected and expected to be fully operational.

The new Buzz Lightyear attraction may have “unofficially” opened.

Most of the other attractions will have had a recent refurbishment and the whole place has been overhauled to make it ready for May 5th

To check out the details you should visit the official Disneyland site and navigate to the calendar entry for the dates of your visit. Keeping checking in there as more details will appear as the date gets nearer.

Remember some attractions are usually closed whenever you visit the parks. To visit when most stuff is ready but before the crowds take over the place would seem to be a good ploy and we are sure you will have a great time  :cheer2:
