Just got a call from athletic trainer at DS's school. They had their first away game today and evidently DS was taken down and landed on his thumb.

Don't know whether it is just jammed or fractured. It is swollen and they are putting a brace on it and will recheck it Monday am. If needed he will be sent for x-rays then.

I'm glad it wasn't something more serious, but I know he is hurting.

Thanks

Ouch I bet that hurts. Thinking good thoughts for your son, that his thumb isn't seriously injured and heals up very quickly and painlessly.

Sending prayers that it's not injured too badly. A few {{hugs}} for you, because I imagine you are worried sick.

That sounds like it hurt! Saying a prayer that it is nothing serious {{hugs}}

Pixie Dust for your son! I hope his thumb isn't injured too badly. Hope all goes well.

Hugs to him and to you.
I hope it turns out to be a sprain.
Hope he feels better soon and is pain free.

Keeping your DS in my prayers! Hope that it isn't too serious!

OUCH! Bless his heart I know that hurts. Saying a prayer for him and his mom.. its awful to know your child is hurt and you are not there with them.

Thanks for everyone's prayers. I just hated that I wasn't there. Of course he would have been mad at me if I went running down there (he's a tough guy). DS did ok last night. We just had to nag him to ice it and keep the brace on.

Dan, he plays soccer so this won't keep him from playing. High School soccer can be brutal though.

Thanks again and I will update when we know more tomorrow.

Thanks for the update, cinlee. And yes, he would have hated that, LOL. :o And it is so hard to get those 'tough' kids to take care of themselves, they do like to 'tough it out'.

Yep, soccer can be VERY tough. My two did not play beyond grade school, but I have seen the HS games, and like you said, can be tough.

My continued good wishes for your boy. :sunny:
