My DH hasn't had much work lately. He works as an electricians apprentice but with the down turn in the economy jobs have dropped off a bit. I think he has probably worked a total of 2 weeks (if you combine 1/2 day here, 1/2 day there) since mid December.
He has been putting in a ton of applications but nothing yet.
He was recommended for a job opportunity that is very selective. Only accepting 50 individuals. It will be welding. Only thing is you have to go through a training course that could last 4 months to 6 months depending on how quick you catch on. The training is not paid but you are guaranteed a job locally with this company (have to sign a 2 year contract) starting at $18 an hour with plenty of room for pay advancement. The training will be a 40 hour week (4 ten hour days).
This could be a great opportunity and skill but 6 months is a long time with no full time pay. We are considering it and along with my income, what he makes at his part time maintenance at the church, he is looking at trying to find a part time job to supplement a little. It would be tight budget wise.
I would really love for him to find a trade he likes and is good at, he has moved around jobs so much and just doesn't seem to find his nitch.
Please pray with us that if this is where God would have him be that He would open the door and give DH clear direction, as well as, meet our needs during the training process. If it is not God's will my prayer is that He would shut the door completely, that the group would have filled up, etc.
Thanks in advance,
Cristy
