*** Names have been changed, 'cause this isn't my story and I didn't want to invade their privacy.***

Almost five years ago we met some terrific folks on a Disney Cruise. It started out that we sat next to the same family every night at the show. A bit of pre-show small talk occurred...and we learned that the three ladies were Jane Doe, her daughter (Sandy) and Jane's mom (Grammie). Fast forward to the next year....for those of you who cruise, you probably do it at roughly the same time every year and we're no different. Well, we're standing in the terminal and I poke my hubby...."hey, those look like the folks we sat next to in the show last year"....hubby says no way. Well, way! It was the same three ladies. We sat waved, hugged and yep, had show companions again. This time we exchanged phone numbers and email addresses. Year 3, we linked up dining reservations. Year 4, they did the Panama "bringing home the Magic" and we're disembarking when we were waiting to board. It's approaching Year 5 and we've already linked our dining reservations and emailed several times.

They don't DIS --- don't hold it against them....they're busy and don't spend alot of time on the computer (unlike me). Well, I emailed to find out if they would like to do a brunch or dinner at Palo and found out that Grammie is very ill. They didn't want to tell us the bad news, but she's been diagnosed with four types of cancer just after Thanksgiving. It started in the lung, and spread to the brain, liver and now the bones. She's had brain surgery, and that tumor is completely gone, so at least she can walk and talk now (they thought she had had a stroke, cause her speech was off and she was dragging one side). She started chemo a few weeks ago, and is currently going thru radiation for the pain of the bone cancer in her spine.

Jane says that her mom's attitude is great and that she is determined to beat this. Grammie is in her 80's and she is a tough lady. Right now she is in rehab, and hopefully will be coming home next week sometime.

I'd really appreciate any prayers, pixie dust, and positive thoughts that you can send to a very special family.

I know this post is really long --- but thanks for reading!!
