I too hope that the police catch the jerk who did this. Several years ago we were involved in a hit and run, the person who had been driving the car was drinking at the time and had been doing drugs earlier. Luckily for us some other drivers saw what had happened and gave chase. They were able to get his reg. number and he was caught eventually. This person will get what is coming to him/her one way or another, what goes around comes around!!

Just an update, we just got back from the hospital. He is very uncomfortable, but the surgery to reconstruct his elbow went well. He had to have plates and screws put in to reconstruct the extensive damage, but the surgeon told my Mom and his wife that he felt that my brother could play sports again, etc. They double checked to make sure the surgeon realized about his back and he said yes, he still felt he would play sports again!!! They did however, find out that he has a fractured pelvis on his list of injuries. They hope to move him to a rehab facility soon!!!

I dont think I will ever get that initial pain of seeing my brother in ICU out of my head, and I swear, even though I wasnt there, I can visualize clearly what happened to him and it makes me physically sick to think of. However, I am so ecstatic that things are turning out as well as they are. He's got a lot of hard work ahead of him and it's just amazing he's alive. I guess you never know. I never realized how much I loved my brother until I got the phone call last Friday. But, I can tell you that I will now never forget!!!!

Thanks again for the update, pb. Good to hear. Marie's uncle was hit by a car a number of years ago, in a coma for 3 weeks. Today, years later, he is doing fine, the body is a wonderful creation. Continued prayer and best wishes for your brother.

I am so sorry that you are having to go through this. My prayers are with you, your brother and all of your family. I hope he makes a full recovery!

PS ...if it turns out the jerk who hit him was drunk, I hope they put him away forever...of course since he/she fled I guess you could not prove DWI...my dad died at age 48 at the hands of a drunk. If only people realized what damage they can do...*steps off her soapbox*

I will pray for your brother's speedy recovery.

I used to work in Outpatient P.T./O.T./Speech at a local hospital as a biller. It absolutely amazed me the gifted healers I worked with. To see someone come in a wheelchair & leave walking, is truly a gift to witness. I hope your brother will give that gift to all those around him who are wishing him well!
