Prayers Need. Going to the Hospital May 21st for a Colonoscopy.

Since I have Crohn's disease, I have to go in for a colonoscopy about every 12-18 months. As other posters have said, prep is by far the worst part.

One thing I've found that makes it less miserable is taking the pill form of the prep instead of the fleet. The end result (no pun intended) is the same, but at least you don't have to drink that nasty stuff. You doctor might not offer it as an option, but never hurts to ask.

My father was diagnosed with colon cancer close to three weeks ago. He is now in the hospital after having major surgery to remove his colon and reconstruct his insides. We are hoping it will allow him normal functioning (and no chemo --- still waiting on word about that) as the cancer was able to be removed. If he had had a colonoscopy earlier, it might have been found at an early stage. Good for you for taking the proper precautions. Stay positive!
My Prayers go out to him. I know that what im doing was discussed by me and my Mom. I thank my Mom for encouraging me to have a Colonoscopy.

You will do fine. CC runs in my family big time so I am very proactice for the scope. In fact last time I had it done, I was literally in the exam room on my left side & my doc comes over & says here sign this, I'm like what is this, and he says, we are going to do an endoscopy while we are at it. Trust me, I was in no position to say no! LOL

Hey Folks, Thank you for all your prayers and thoughts. Also thanks to Kevin as well, The Prep was not as bad as i thought but I survived it I sleept well. I used Gatoraid and added my Malonox which was better but kind of grainny. I will let you all know how it went tomorrow.:thumbsup2
