I'm posting the e-mail that I sent to friends and family this morning. This is why I have been away from the boards for the last couple of days. Please send prayers and pixie dust our way.

Good Morning All,
I know we are right here a few days from Christmas, but I need to ask for some prayers for our school community. 11 long hard days ago one of our precious 5th grade students and her family, were involved in a terrible Drunk Driving accident. The students and school community have been saying prayers, send positive thoughts and wish she would be ok.
In the last 12 hours we have had to call all of our students and let they know that she is resting with god. My heart broke last night when I told my parents because this is a lesson I hope none of my kids would have to learn at 10 years old.
SHe was a beautiful little girl. In fact the morning of the accident, she came bouncing into my room and asked me a question. She was laughing and giggling with the girls in my class. She had an infectious smile that would light up a room. Last Tuesday night the 4th and 5th grade Chorus sang a song at the Hoilday concert that had these lyrics:
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
Our school community is grieving for this family and with this family. If you have a moment, please say a few prayers and hug your children extra tight. Please be careful as you travel and please do not drink and drive.
