UPDATE: Dad went for another exam today. Instead of going ahead with the surgery on Monday, he is going to do another biopsy to double-check on how far the cancer has spread. He wants to make sure that he is correct in his estimates and is giving the best advice. We're in limbo for right now, but will know more after the biopsy on Monday. Surgery will follow a few days later. We are just not sure how much will be removed as of yet.
I just saw this....sending lots of prayers your way. I hope the biopsy went well. I've been dealing with a similar situation with my Dad. He had cancerous tumors removed from his colon on April 14th. If you want/need to talk or have any questions...please feel free to PM me!
UPDATE: Dad had a biopsy yesterday. The doctor is going to perform surgery to remove the colon on Monday. They are going to try one option to give him as much normal functioning as possible. If he does not adjust well, he will perform another type of surgery shortly thereafter. Thanks for your PD and support
Jumping in late, just saw this now. Sending prayers and pixie dust your way. Our oldest son Justin has been battling cancer since we discovered it at age 14. He is now 18 and we are getting the graduation cards ready this week. Keep fighting the battles and remain positive!
